Arrival and Check-In
Our arrival process was smooth and well-organized. The lobby area is bright, cheerful, and unmistakably Nickelodeon-themed, featuring colorful décor and a welcoming atmosphere. Check-in took about 15 minutes, and the staff provided wristbands that doubled as room keys—a convenient touch for families.
Luggage service was efficient, and we were promptly escorted to our suite, located in room 4202, one of the nicest accommodations I’ve experienced in the Dominican Republic.
The Flat Suite: 10/10 for Comfort and Design
The Flat Suite delivers exactly what families need: space, comfort, and fun details. The layout is open and modern, featuring a large living area, a spacious bathroom with double sinks, and a private terrace.
Every detail felt thoughtfully designed—from the plush bedding to the high-quality furniture and clean, modern finishes. The room’s atmosphere was cozy yet sophisticated, making it easy to unwind after a day of exploring the resort.
Simply put, I would rate the Flat Suite a 10/10. It’s ideal for families who appreciate both comfort and style.
Dining Highlights
Verdello – Italian Restaurant
Our first dinner was at Verdello, the resort’s Italian restaurant. The ambiance was lively, filled with families enjoying dinner together. The salmon entrée was the standout dish—perfectly cooked and full of flavor, easily a 9/10.
While the restaurant leans more toward a family setting than a romantic one, the service was excellent, and the staff made everyone feel welcome. It’s a great option for a casual yet delicious dinner.
Nick Bistro – Breakfast with the Characters
Breakfast at Nick Bistro was a memorable experience—especially for families traveling with kids. While the food itself rated around 8/10, the entertainment easily scored a 10/10.
Guests get to meet Nickelodeon characters like SpongeBob and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, making it a picture-perfect setting for birthdays or special celebrations. The kids were thrilled, and even adults couldn’t help but smile during the character interactions.
Wok Wok – Asian Cuisine
Dinner at Wok Wok turned out to be one of the best meals of the trip. I ordered the poke bowl with tuna and mango, and it was a clear 10/10—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented.
The atmosphere was relaxed, and to top it off, I found Presidente, a local Dominican beer, on the menu—a great pairing with the meal. Between the attentive service and quality of the food, Wok Wok is highly recommended for anyone craving Japanese and Asian-inspired cuisine.
The Beach and Pools
The beach area was clean, quiet, and completely free of sargassum during our stay. The sand was soft, the water clear, and loungers were always available. It’s the kind of beach you can enjoy all day—whether relaxing or building sandcastles with the kids.
The main infinity pool with a swim-up bar is another highlight. It’s family-friendly but still relaxing enough for adults to enjoy a drink while soaking up the sun. Service at the pool bar was fast, friendly, and consistent throughout the day.
The Nickelodeon Water Park
One of the resort’s main attractions is the Nickelodeon Aqua Nick Water Park, located just a 5–10 minute walk from the main lobby.
The park includes slides, splash zones, and a lazy river, all kept impeccably clean and well-maintained. Food and drink options are available within the park, so you can easily spend several hours there without heading back to the main resort.
Staff at the water park were exceptional—helpful, attentive, and genuinely friendly. The cleanliness and organization of the area deserve a 10/10 rating. Families will love it.

What Do People Think About Staying At Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Punta Cana?
We stayed at Nickelodeon Resort Punta Cana for one week in October, and unfortunately, it was a big disappointment. The food was terrible — especially the buffet. The only restaurants we actually enjoyed were the Asian and Italian ones. Everything else was awful, and to make things worse, my husband, my 3-year-old, and I all ended up with food poisoning.
It seemed like we went during their slow season because besides the water park, the nighttime character appearances, and some face painting, there wasn’t much else to do for young kids. Each night, only one restaurant was open, and after our experience, we didn’t trust the buffet anymore.
We’ve been to many all-inclusive resorts, especially in Mexico, and the difference in hospitality and attention to detail was very noticeable. The staff at Nickelodeon seemed short-staffed and overworked, so I’m giving 2 stars mainly because of them — they were doing their best with what they had.
Also, anything not included in the package was ridiculously expensive. Overall, we would not recommend this resort to anyone. Definitely not worth the price.
Besides that as a mom with a child with multiple food allergies I was very pleased with the staff at the buffet who went above and beyond creating dishes that he could eat. Thank you to Joel, Lamuel and Amaury for making it a safe and enjoyable meal.
Room & Maintenance:
The hotel rooms are in need of renovation. The paint on the walls was peeling, and our toilet wasn’t functioning properly. We called maintenance twice to fix it, but no one ever came, which was disappointing considering the cost of our stay.
Food & Dining:
The food was another major issue. The buffet offered breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but the quality was poor. Most of the food was seafood—which I don’t eat—and the non-seafood options were cold, dry, and didn’t taste fresh. Breakfast was the only meal I somewhat enjoyed because it had a bit more variety. Room service food was also below average. For the price of this resort, I expected much better food quality.
Pool & Environment:
There was also a big issue with bees around the pool areas. There were so many that it made it uncomfortable to relax or enjoy a drink outside. At one point, my husband was even stung by a bee. This really took away from what should have been a relaxing experience.
Staff & Service:
One of the highlights of our trip was the friendliness of the staff. I want to give a special thank you to Luis, Francisco, Danny, Johan, Leo, and Hangler. These gentlemen went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable despite the other issues we encountered. Their kindness truly made a difference during our stay.
Activities & Entertainment:
Our kids enjoyed seeing the characters and playing in the pool, which was one of the few enjoyable parts of our trip. The resort definitely caters well to children’s entertainment.
Sales Presentation Experience:
Another disappointing part of our stay was the so-called “presentation” we were encouraged to attend. We were told it would last 90 minutes and that we’d receive coupons and perks for attending. Instead, it lasted nearly two hours and felt like a high-pressure sales pitch for a membership. We were told that the deposit required for the membership would be refundable if we canceled within five days. However, when I canceled on day three due to financial reasons, I was informed that the deposit was actually non-refundable because it was considered an “administrative fee.” This was very misleading and upsetting.
Overall Impression:
Overall, while the staff we met were wonderful and my kids had fun, the resort itself did not live up to its reputation or price point. Between the outdated rooms, poor food quality, bee problem, and misleading sales presentation, I left feeling disappointed. I hope management takes feedback like this seriously because this resort has potential—but right now, it falls short of what guests are promised.

We encountered a couple workers who were great and very welcoming. The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was the buffet/restaurants. It took a little long getting our drinks and when we did it took long for refills vs us being able to walk in (all inclusive) and getting our drinks ourselves. Also you have to be on point with reserving other restaurants, I was a hour late because my phone died and everything was booked. They did accommodate us so I was very thankful! You’ll also have to pay extra for the cool stuff, ninja turtles, character breakfast and personal slime. The gift shop with the characters were a little expensive especially for people who have multiple kids. But overall it was a good experience, my son enjoyed himself and I would go back. They anticipated our needs without us even having to ask and made excellent recommendations that really enhanced our meal.
