This resort is lovely, although the weather wasn't ideal when we stayed (too much wind) during June. The rooms were nice but found a hair in the bath so it made me question overall how clean the whole place was.
We only stayed for one night and we tried the jacuzzi. It was filthy with trash, bugs, and debris as though maybe a filter wasn't working or it wasn't being maintained well.
The posted jacuzzi hours said that it closed at 9 PM but they shut off the lights at 8:30 making us feel pressured to leave. It was an odd experience. We would have liked to stay until the posted closing time while fully enjoying the ambiance. Also the jets were underwhelming (low pressure or non existent).
Other than those issues, this hotel is beautiful, spacious, and reasonably priced. I would return.
If I stay again for a longer trip, I will update my review.

This was our third stay at The Playa Grande Resort. We visited the Playa Grande Resort for almost two weeks beginning the last week of May 2026. We truly enjoyed the views of the water where the Pacific Ocean meets the Sea of Cortez. The views of the water, the rock formations and the mountains were breathtaking! Everyday, it reminded us of God, our Creator!
We had some amazing service while eating at the Brigatin, Calima, The Villas, and Lobby Bar restaurants on the resort. The servers who stood out for us were Jonathan and Daniel at the Lobby Bar, Cirilo at the Villas, Florencio at the Brigatin, and Isela, Areli, and Johnnie at the Calima. These servers went above and beyond with an unparalleled level of service! Thank you!
And we cannot forget the outstanding service and cleaning we received in our resort unit from Ricardo! Wow! Ricardo cleaned the room everyday as if we were the only room he had to clean. He left everything restocked and the entire unit was spotless...inside and outside! Thank you, Ricardo!
And what can we say about the amazing and wonderful front desk, concierge, and bell hop personnel? Simply put, they were exceptionally responsive! From the moment we walked into the beautiful and clean lobby, we were impressed! Thank you, to all of the lobby, concierge and bell hop employees!
The grounds of the resort were immaculate! It seemed that every grounds employee did his or her work with pride and precision! Well done!
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR IMPROVEMENT: We could not provide an honest review without noting areas that can be improved to enhance the resort's overall appeal. We recommend the following: Consider updating furniture, appliances, and TVs in the units. We understand that the Playa Grande management may have already started this improvement project, and just had not gotten around to the unit we were in. Still, we enjoyed our unit, so this recommendation is simply to make The Playa Grande Resort a stellar resort in every way! Just a final note: We gave the "Rooms" 3-stars; if there had been a 3-75 star, we would have chosen that one.

Please be extremely careful with this hotel. If you look Mexican, if you are Mexican, or if your skin tone is different from that of a white person, this hotel is definitely not for you.
Never in my life have I felt such discrimination as I did at this hotel, not even in the United States, Europe, or Japan. The staff treated me as if I were an alien invading planet Earth. I naively did not know that in this type of hotel, around 98% of the guests are Anglo-Saxon. It was a very unpleasant experience: constant looks from head to toe from the staff, including security guards, housekeepers, bartenders, gym staff, management, and others.
On many occasions, I was asked for my room number and last name, sometimes in completely unnecessary and ridiculous situations, as if they doubted that I had the money to stay there.
I had a very unfortunate experience with the bartender at the main bar. He did not welcome me when I sat down, not even a simple greeting. He served me a very strange drink, extremely strange. I have been drinking alcohol occasionally for about 20 years, and I can honestly say that there was something wrong with that drink. I suddenly developed a terrible headache and started shaking. Never in my life had I felt that way.
I felt embarrassed because I never do this, but I confronted him about the drink he had served me. He simply told me that this was how he prepared the drinks, and that was the end of it. I got up and immediately went to look for a manager. The manager laughed in my face, literally laughed, and said that this was how drinks were served at their hotel. Then, almost like a scene from a comedy, he asked for my room number while wearing a mocking smile on his face.
At that moment, I understood everything. All of these employees seemed to be connected by the same attitude and behavior I mentioned at the beginning.
I went back to my room and could not sleep because I feared some kind of retaliation from them. I felt unsafe in a hotel that I had paid for and where I was supposed to be enjoying a pleasant vacation.
I have traveled all over the world, and this was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. If I can say something positive, it is that the food was delicious, the facilities were immaculate, and the hotel was very beautiful aesthetically. However, on a human level, it was one of the worst experiences I have ever lived through.
What a shame that this situation exists in Mexico and that no one talks about it. Truly disappointing.

Our stay at Playa Grande Resort was absolutely amazing! The resort is beautiful, clean, and perfectly located with incredible views and easy access to everything in Cabo. The staff was extremely friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help with a smile. From check-in to check-out, the customer service was top-notch. The food, pools, and overall atmosphere made for a relaxing and memorable vacation. We truly felt taken care of the entire time. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Cabo San Lucas!

We enjoyed the resort very much, rooms were nice and clean each day. Very nice resort with a variety of pools, and the temperature of each pool was slightly different which gave you warmer or cooler options. Poolside service was great, Ricardo was exceptional. The food on site was great, we enjoyed going to Brigantine restaurant. Another convenience was being less than 10min walk to the marina.
The entertainment crew were a lot of fun, special thanks to Sarah, Leylane, Edgar, Orlando, Isaac and Rodrigo.
Overall great experience and would definitely stay here again

Playa Grande is my 'go-to' when I go to Cabo. The resort itself is great. The rooms are big, CLEAN, and quiet at night. The beds are very comfortable. It has a few restaurants to choose from and the breakfast buffet is very good. It is only a few minutes walk from the marina if you want to get away from the resort. The beach on the resort is nice and never crowded. You can even walk a pretty good distance and not be heckled by people. The service is top notch. They get you checked in quickly, and if you are waiting, people bring you courtesy drinks. Last time I was there, I had a small issue with my room, a guy was there in 10 minutes to fix it. It is a larger resort so if you are on the north side, it can be a little walk to the main lobby. However, all you have to do is call the front and ask for a golf cart if you have any handicaps, or if you just don't want to walk (especially when it's hot). There are a few infinity pools which are relaxing and fun to meet new people at. I can't say anything bad about this place. If you're looking for a "party" resort, this isn't it. This is a more laid back, relaxed resort. Look into Hotel Sandos Finisterra which is right next to Playa Grande if you're looking for a more active resort.

Very easily one of the best experiences we’ve ever had at an all inclusive. Food was excellent, staff was incredible and facilities were clean and easy to navigate. Not to mention the sunset on the pristine beach is unbelievable. Highly recommend!

Excellent second visit at Playa Grande with my husband, toddler and extended family. We had such a wonderful visit-- Literally everyone who works there is lovely and welcoming. Extra shout out to the pool servers, Daniel and Miriam, server Oscar at The Brigantine and the entire entertainment crew Leilani, Sara and Roberto. We cannot wait to come back again soon. We’ve always loved this resort and ultimately had a great stay.
At the start of our visit, we experienced some issues related to ongoing renovations, including a sewer odor and intermittent electrical outages. That was frustrating initially. It’s worth noting that we were already in an upgraded room, which was very nice.
After connecting with a supervisor, management followed up personally, listened to our concerns, and offered solutions, including the option to move rooms for our final day. Since the odor issue had resolved and moving rooms for just one night felt like more hassle than benefit, we chose to remain where we were. Management also provided a fair adjustment to our meal plan, which was appreciated.
The service, grounds, pools, and family activities are excellent, and we enjoyed ourselves enough to extend our stay by an extra day. While renovations can be disruptive, management ultimately stepped in and handled things well.
We’d happily return.

Booked 2 Deluxe Junior Suites for 8 people for my bachelorette. Rooms were supposed to have an ocean view, but upon arrival we were told none were available in the section we booked. We were pushed into a $240 upgrade to a “more private” section that turned out to be a major inconvenience.
The walk to the rooms was constant steep up-and-down hills - completely impractical, especially in heels. Golf carts were unreliable (only 2–3 staff covering multiple areas), often taking 10–20 minutes or not showing up at all. Rooms faced construction and palm trees, not the view we paid for.
Service was disappointing - concierge and staff showed little care or hospitality.
Ubers cannot pick up at the resort, meaning another walk down the hill every time.
Nice pools and views in other areas, but oceanfront chairs were always “reserved” despite signs saying you can’t reserve them.
Bottom line: Looks nice, but poor organization and service ruin the experience. Location is close to everything. Would not return.

This was an amazing experience! It was my wife and I's first time in Cabo. We've heard much about it but had never been and didn't know what to expect. We came across Playa Grande as an affordable stay with many good reviews. So we decided to book and try it. We are so glad that we did! The room was amazing and had everything you needed in it. The resort itself was top tier, and service was fantastic. All the restaurants in campus were fantastic and we ate at the steak house every night. You really couldn't beat it for the price. I would recommend this place to anyone, especially if it is your first time, it makes the experience worth it. My wife loved so much she almost wanted to get the time share part of it, but I had to remind her that time shares are never worth it. It is a must stay. We would love to go this year but the recent messages sent from cartel is that they will be killing Americans on vacation in major Mexico cities and Cabo was one of them. I don't feel comfortable doing that and gambling with our lives. The drive from the airport to the resort is a little far and I can see how they could stop anyone they wanted on that drive. I wish the cartel would stop ruining things for their economy. Hopefully we will be back soon.

The room was excellent with a huge balcony overlooking the marina — cannot beat the location. I booked this place specifically because it offered a two bedroom suite with a full kitchen — very hard to come by, especially when looking for an all-inclusive resort. Staff was very helpful and friendly and the resort itself was lovely. I would, however, only recommend this hotel to those who have money to spend and no timeline. We definitely did not get our monies worth. We paid for all-inclusive which just paid for meals — we were still expected to tip at all locations (and dine-in is required, so that’s a lot of tips), the on-site coffee cart was not included, and despite having a full kitchen, they don’t even include dish soap or complimentary coffee, let alone a wet bar or even bottles of water that are the norm at most resorts and many basic hotels. Surprised and disappointed that you are required to dine-in at each restaurant; you can’t order out and there’s no place to just grab food and go. This was very frustrating having brought a toddler where we were trying to stick to nap times (especially with slower service, making the fastest meal still at least 90 minutes) and having booked excursions off site.

Came back today and miss it already! Wow! VERY clean and the staff were warm, professional and just so sweet. Sending a shout out to Andres by the bar! JORGE at brigantine, ubaldo at the front, areli the server, and David!! By the bar at the pool. So many wonderful people I may have forgot. But I’m so impressed by this place. Food was great as well! Will be coming back for sure

Very alright - you could get a better bang for your buck elsewhere. The food is meh and terribly overpriced. We got an “upgrade” at check-in that put us in an old room in a very far building (5-7 min walk to the central areas). Our room developed a smell if it hadn’t been cleaned for 24 hours and some of our cash went missing.

We had a fun time at Playa Grande. I was worried someone would try to do a timeshare pitch with us, but nobody mentioned anything. There are sales people available if interested, but we were not in any way encouraged to talk to them. There’s a separate concierge that can assist with excursions etc.
The resort is in a hill, so you have to walk up and down to get to town. We had a person in a wheelchair with us, so that caused an issue. We had to call a cab just to get to the marina, which is literally 5 min walk. The hotel did not provide a golf cart or anything like that. Cabs DO come to the front though and there’s a flat rate to go to town and back. Very easy and convenient. Would 100% prefer that to Uber, which will drop/pick up at the gate only and you still have to walk to the front.
The grounds are pretty and well maintained. The main lobby is again up a tall staircase from the grounds. There is a steep driveway for the golf carts, but no elevator for wheelchairs. Not ideal. Couple times we asked for a lift in a cart for the disabled person and they acted put off like they’ve never had a request like that before.
The restaurant on site (the one in the middle) is ok. A bit pricey for what you get, but it’s convenient. One night during our stay they were only doing a buffet which was pretty expensive. No table service. Didn’t try the steakhouse. There is a swim up bar.
Pools were very nice and there was always loungers available. There were some pool-side, and some facing the beach/ocean. The attendants were very friendly and helpful. They had happy hours throughout the day.
The beach is very nice but it being on the Pacific side is not safe to swim. The waves are spectacular to watch though! There are some really cool rock formations at the southernmost end of the beach. Divorce Beach is on the other side of the rocks, but of course you can’t reach it.
Room and bathroom was very nice. There was construction going in the building two down from ours which caused dust blowing and noise most of the day. That was definitely a bummer. The resort was not very busy, which was nice, but that might have been why.

We LOVE staying at the Playa Grande Resort in Cabo San Lucas. We try to go to Mexico every 2 years and we always look forward to staying at the Playa Grande. The Resort is in such a convenient location, close to shopping, excursions, local restaurants and the Marina. The Resort itself, is just beautiful (to say the least), always well kept and well maintained. The Restaurants are all amazing and we always book a Spa day (they have amazing facials and massages). Super Family friendly resort, we recently added our 1 year old to our trips & he had a blast! Didnt have any issues with stroller access, they accommodate for the kids at PG. ALSO, The Playa Grande has one of my favorite hotel lobbies, just so open and natural. The smell! Such a distinct smell! (they even sell it as an air freshener at the Spa!) Highly recommend you get yourself a bottle. It gives us a piece of the Playa Grande in our own home, which is so nice. BUT we really love the Playa Grande for the people mostly. The Staff is always so accommodating and hospitable, but most of all just such genuine people. We've even built friendships with some of the Entertainment Staff. They remembered us from 2 years ago! They sold us a package that was supposed to include a breakfast buffet. When we got there, there was no buffet. The restaurant aka “The Sports Bar” had a menu that we were able to order from instead. However, they limited us to certain items. We were not permitted to order the steak and eggs. We were also not permitted to order extra food. The only drinks included were coffee or juice. They charged us for water. Our group spoke to Angel at the front desk on several occasions who stated he had spoken to a manager and their resolution was to tell the wait staff at the restaurant to serve us what we liked. That never happened and no one would take responsibility. So in closing, the resort is nice but DO NOT buy any extras such as the bogus buffet from these people. You will be frustrated. The waiter who I believe was Javier, was not very pleasant. I think he doesn’t like his job there.

This was our second year here, we loved it so much last September, we came back for 2025. Service is absolutely amazing here along with the great fresh food! Mirium, Hector, Alberto, and Ulysess will take great care of you while at the pool bar and resting by the ocean! Jose and Javier will take care of you at the onsite restaurants for an amazing breakfast or dinner. Finally, Aimee, Humberto, Jair, and the event staff will keep you entertained and engaged, especially with water aerobics daily!

It was off-season and there certainly was some rainy weather, however, that’s no excuse for the terrible poolside food and beverage service or the equally terrible Sports Bar service. One quick anecdote of each to help you understand that I’m not being hyperbolic.
I ordered some food by the pool. It took nearly an hour to get it and by that time the rain had started. My wife was stuck in the room because the night before they fixed a leak but forgot to use Teflon tape. I picked up my food to avoid it getting soaked, and as I started walking back with it, one server ran after me and indignantly scolded me for taking food to the room . Clearly the alternative was soaking-wet food. Then in the Sports Bar, which was the only place open, I found another server to ask where my food was after about 45 minutes. My server went AWOL and left 4 open tickets. Nobody knew where he was.
Now, I don’t want to just point out the bad things, I need to mention two outstanding food situations that arose. The first is Ulises at the pool. After hearing what had happened, we went out of his way to provide excellent service.
The very best, of my whole vacation, was Brigantine. The food and service by Wilfredo and Florencio were A+ quality. Wilfredo went way above and beyond by having the cook make a special tortilla soup for us and then he made the trip amazing again with the beautiful dessert shown below. The manager was equally impressive. Brigantine saved the vacation!

We’ve had a timeshare at Playa Grande for about 20 years, and it’s something we look forward to every year. We started coming before we had kids, and now our children have been here every year since they were born—it’s become a family tradition we all cherish.
Despite the age of the resort, you’d never know it. The property is always clean, well-maintained, and beautifully cared for. There are two main restaurants plus a dedicated buffet/party area, and the food is consistently good. The fiesta nights are always a blast!
The staff is extremely friendly and goes out of their way to interact with guests. There are multiple pools and hot tubs, including an adult-only area, and a great daytime playlist that sets the perfect vacation vibe. It’s very family-friendly with lots of activities throughout the day, and the view of the Pacific Ocean is simply stunning.

We enjoyed our first international stay with our toddler in playa grande. The rooms were really spacious and very convenient. Housekeeping was also regular everyday and kept the rooms neat. Felt the bathtub didn’t need such a steep step. It was hard to climb in each time to bathe my 1 year old son. The hotel proximity to marina and downtown was fantastic. We were treated well during timeshare but didn’t buy it ultimately. Another disappointment was we didn’t know the events in the resort. On the day we left, there was some nice event and we weren’t aware that it was for residents. They could put up the list of activities in the resort in the lobby itself for people to be aware of. Overall, loved the pools and the walkable access to the beach. The front steps were not convenient for strollers and ramps were all longer routes.

We love Playa Grande. We have been going here for 12+ years and have no complaints. A huge selling point, especially having younger kids, is the activity staff. They are truly amazing! The way they keep adults and kids involved and entertained the WHOLE day is amazing! They are also all so kind.

We absolutely loved our stay here at the Playa Grande Resort. The staff were all so amazing and friendly and the resort is absolutely beautiful. We had a lot of great times in the pool and beach and the restaurants were all so delicious. The poolside service was great and the food they had to offer at the pool was excellent. The location is amazing too, walking distance to the downtown area of San Lucas. I definitely would come back here again.

We stayed at the Ridge portion of the hotel and would highly recommend it. You get access to additional pools and a waterslide for the kids. Rooms are huge- we had a two bedroom- with great views. Everyone we interacted with was great. We had a good time?

Such a great experience! The absolute best staff at this resort. The activity leaders and servers around the pool make everything so much fun. Our kids really enjoyed all the daily activities, especially tequila volleyball in the pool (kid friendly). Love the location! Within walking distance of the marina, downtown area, and many nearby restaurants

Stayed here with my family in Jan 2025. One of the shower doors was missing and broken glass was on the floor. We let front desk know but it took multiple tries and days to get a replacement door and the glass cleaned up.
We also opted for a group airport transportation but was charged for a private transportation. I brought it up with their concierge and they supposedly issued a refund with a receipt. It has been months and the refund has not been issued. I tried to file a claim with my credit card company but the hotel is saying that it is a legitimate charge.
The views are nice but not worth the headache.

We stayed last year after Christmas, thru the New Years. Great place, love the rooms, location, pools, beautiful and fun, but the service was a bit on the fence. Several times at breakfast, they tried to overcharge - specially if it's bigger group and people paid separately and left earlier, they tried to say they didn't pay, and add drinks to the last person. Then they tried to charge for breakfast, even tho my mother in law had a free breakfast on the room, and another time tried to charge my 3 year old. Very shady. Just watch out for all that. Otherwise, very nice place.

- Location was amazing. Views amazing. (Not a swimming beach, too dangerous)
- Service is 5 stars. The people there were very nice and welcoming.
- Room amenities are the only thing keeping it from 5/5 stars. They were a bit dated and worn out but they are doing renovations so hopefully this gets fixed by next year. (Beds though were hard and squeaky to sleep in.)
-Passed on the spa. But it looked beautiful. (Too pricey compared to too spas right on the beach sands in town.)
- Outdoor pools and jacuzzies were amazing and each a slightly different temperature to ones liking.
- Walking distance to the town shops, restaurants, and nightlife. ($5 Uber/$10 taxi to anywhere in town if you don't want to walk to the far side of town/harbor)
Overall Playa Grande was a great experience and my family and I look forward to going again soon!

This resort was so perfect. The rooms were spacious and enough room for 2 adults & 3 kids with a private space for adults and a kitchenette and fridge. Everyone here was so friendly and we had a ton of fun. I loved how you don’t need to get all inclusive as there are many places to walk to and you can bring your own things! We opted for the breakfast included which was well worth it! Beach and pool were amazing, we saw crabs and beautiful whales from shore. You cannot swim at the beach by the resort which is a drawback but we did take a water taxi to Lover’s beach which was easy and well worth it. You can walk to the marina from the hotel and around town.

Location is awesome. The food is a bit above average. When the pool is crowded , it takes a while to get someone to take your order. Rooms are clean, mattress hard. More for families and frat boys. If your over 50, stay at grand Solmar, more modern and classy, better restaurants.

Activity crew is great, so many options each day and they bring the energy! Water aerobics, beach volleyball, water volleyball, corn hole tournaments, blackjack, poker and bingo. Lots of free entertainment. Resort also has mini golf (holes themselves could use a little maintenance). My boys all had fun (18, 16, 12). We were surprised to be able to find seats each morning by pool (and not having to "claim" by sunrise like most resorts). Food and service were good as well.

We have owned a timeshare here since 2007. It's a Fabulous location close to the Marina in Cabo San Lucas. Martin in the bar area is Excellent. One of the ladies and him made a large group Mexican coffees! I will have one before I leave! The people who work here are Amazing! Our housekeeper this week is Ricardo and he is Wonderful! The whales are plentiful to watch this year too! We Love Cabo!

My stay at Playa Grande Resort & Grand Spa in Cabo San Lucas was unforgettable. The resort’s Mexican décor and spacious suites made me feel comfortable and immersed in the local culture. My room had a private balcony with stunning ocean views, which I loved. The infinity pools with swim-up bars were perfect for relaxing, and the spa treatments left me completely rejuvenated. Its location on a private beach provided tranquility, yet I could easily walk to downtown Cabo for dining and nightlife. While the food was a bit pricey and the beach isn’t swimmable, the friendly staff and overall experience more than made up for it. I’d happily return!

The resort boasts stunning views and a beautiful setting, with a mostly empty beach providing a peaceful retreat. No water access due to currents. The staff are warm and welcoming, but sales inclined. There are some fun activities, including entertaining themed nights. Its convenient location is just a 10-minute walk from shopping and restaurants.
However, the resort's food is underwhelming, with overpriced buffet options offering average, plain dishes. One disappointing moment was spotting birds eating from the buffet. The pools are often crowded, and lounge chairs are nearly impossible to secure unless you claim them early in the morning. Additionally, the hot tub is frequently filled with young children during the day and evening, making it less relaxing. While the resort does offer an adults-only area, it was off-limits to us since we were traveling with a teen.

I have stayed at playa grande 8 times now. In all types of rooms. Here’s all of my opinions on Playa Grande.
1) There is so much to do at the resort. This is great if you’re active, have a family or kids, or if you don’t want to just lay by the pool all day. Every day there are different activities and they have the best entertainment staff of anywhere I’ve ever stayed. Aimee, Salma, Rodrigo, and Eduardo are all incredible at their jobs and they truly do treat you like family. Daily activities can include: beach and/or pool volleyball, poker, black jack, Spanish lessons, yoga, water aerobics, bracelet making, stretching classes, cornhole or ping pong tournaments, among many other things. Things start to shut down pretty early though which leaves not much to do during the evenings.
2) I don’t think the all inclusive is worth it unless you plan to do nothing in town and you plan to drink A LOT. Instead, we drink during happy hour which is twice a day (11am-noon and 3pm-4pm) and all the drinks are 2 for 1. They also have a daily drink special that is 2 for 1 the whole day. Drinks are $12-16 each so that makes them much more reasonable and affordable. Lunch by the pool is good but we much prefer to walk into town for breakfast and dinner because there are just so many great options. They have normal bar food, sushi, a taco bar, and other good lunch options if you don’t want to leave. The breakfast buffet is also really good (~$30 per person all you can eat).
3) This is the best location. It is much quieter on this side of the marina and everything is walkable. We walk everywhere and it is so nice. You get to see so much and it’s not bad at all. It’s about 1.3 miles from the resort to the farthest side of the marina one way and we usually walk 7-12 miles a day while we’re there. You also get to watch whales jump from the poolside and they have baby turtle releases in the mornings in the winter months. The only downside is you can’t swim in the ocean at this resort due to the riptides (though in my opinion, the water is cold and not very fun to swim in)
4) I think it is better to stay below than up at the ridge. A lot of people will say the ridge is quieter, this is ONLY during the day time. At night, there is a lot of sound from the marina so you can hear music all night. (Pro tip - hang pool towels over your balcony to absorb most* of the sound). With that being said, the ridge does have its own private pools. There are 2 hot tubs and then 3 pools. One has a slide, one has a swim up bar, and one is an infinity pool with a great pool but they are all a bit chilly. Also from the ridge, it is a bit of a hike down to the normal pools and for that reason I like to stay down below where all the action is during the day. There is also an adults only area with a few pools and hot tub if you are worried about kids.
5) As for the rooms, they are fine… Nothing incredibly spectacular but they are clean and will do. The rooms on the ridge seem to be a bit older and more disgruntled. I think the best rooms are the 2 bedrooms if you have 2 families or couples, or if you have kids. The master suite does not truly sleep 5 in my opinion - in one room you have a king bed with a private bathroom. In the other room you have EITHER a futon couch thing (not a pullout mattress couch more like you move the cushions to make a bed) or it has a full sized Murphy bed. It also has a very small twin Murphy bed (only made for people under 5’10”). This is all in the common area where the kitchen and living room are and then there is another small bathroom for thus area.
Overall, as a younger person who wants to do things, this is my favorite place to stay. It’s the right balance of fun and engaging without being too much of a party scene. There’s fun things to do during the day and you can go into town for fun in the evenings. The food is 7/10 overall and the drinks are great (not strong at all which I like). The location is tough to beat and the staff are all amazing.

Just arrived, and this is going to be an awesome week.
Day five. The staff from front to back have been so friendly. I am now looking to book next Christmas. There have been zero disappointments. Even the weather has been 5 star. The whales haven't cooperating with many sightings right in front of hotel.

This beachfront resort offers a private beach and plenty of activities. However, it monetizes almost everything; there's no complimentary water or in-room coffee (each priced at $10 for 1L water and coffee grounds). Parking is limited, with few covered spots often forcing guests to park on the street, especially challenging in hot weather.

Our flight was cancelled due to weather. There is only one flight per day so we could not arrive to the hotel until the next day. The hotel refused to refund our first night stay. Very disappointing:(

Will not be staying here again, ONLY because we were not able to get a room further away from the port where the hostel across the street has their ridiculously loud music going until 11:30pm every night. Tried wearing earplugs but the vibration of the music could be felt, not just heard. How is it that one establishment is allowed to demolish the ability for anyone to sleep in the hundreds of resort rooms that face the marina. This should be illegal. We spent thousands of dollars to stay in a 4-star resort and yet a hostel which rents rooms by the bunk can ruin the week. I dreaded each night having to try and fall asleep before midnight. We would try and sleep around 10pm and had to get up earlier in the mornings for day excursions. It completely ruined our stay. Even at the presidential suite, I would have settled for a smaller room closer to the coast and as far away from that music as possible.
I have to say that the resort itself, the cleanliness of the entire area is beautiful. The adult only pools were fabulous and the staff is all beyond friendly and helpful. It’s truly the music bumping at all hours of the night that completely ruined it for us. Even a guy in the next building was yelling out his balcony “shut up” because we were fed up with the relentless music vibrations our windows.

Without a doubt the best Hotel in Cabos, I only wish there were more Latin people, being surrounded by pure Americans is uncomfortable but at no time did I suffer from racism and everyone is very friendly, you just have to go with a lot of money because the prices are very excessive and I would like activities like the pool or golf to be open later

Very relaxing. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food is ok. I'd suggest going into town for some of your meals unless you are there to be by the pool your entire visit.

They have beach parties they charge for. They give some people discounts and we asked as we have kids that are 13 & 16 so they don’t drink. They tried to charge them as adults at the time they are giving 15 or even 30 % discounts to guest and we did not get ours so we did not do the beach party. Frustrating to find this out after the party.

My family of 5 stayed 4 days & 3 nights. All staff was very attentive and professional. The property is gated so if driving you must stop at gate and check in w the guard. Added security in my opinion. Views of the Pacific Ocean right from our room and a short walk to the marina. Would consider staying there again

Rooms are great especially for big families. The room assigned to myself was a bit of a journey from the lobby. Decor needs some work. Service was good. Location was good right across from the marina and tourist area. Overall, a decent stay for a decent price.

Loved our stay. We were in the private section of the resort with our own pools, hot tub and bar. Great views from up there. Walking distance to down town. Only down side I'd say is that we didn't do the all inclusive drink and food, which meant we couldn't play mini golf..... unless we paid $21 per person. $63 to play mini golf for 3 people.... yeah no thanks. Saw zero people the entire 5 days we were there playing. Odd they would rather zero play than let people play for free or cheaper than $21 per person.

This resort is very nice and kept up well. There were 4 of us on the all inclusive plan . Food was good and we enjoyed the sports bar. The all inclusive plan was annoying. You had to sign for everything and room service was not included. Towards the end of the week Cabo was hit with a hurricane. It was really bad that the hotel closed all the elevators. We stayed on the Ridge which all the roads were flooded and there were 80 mph winds. We are all senior citizens and one person in our party is disabled and used a cane. We called the front desk to see if they were going to make an exception to there room service plan. The front desk did not care about our situation and made us walk down 8 flights of stairs through pouring rain and winds. We then had to argue to take food back to our room. We asked to speak with a manager and he was busy and was going to call us back. We NEVER heard from them. When we were checking out we had to have a fit for them to help us with our luggage. The fact that we paid good money for the all inclusive and couldn't use it during the storm. I felt management didn't care at all. Keep in mind we could get room service if we paid for it. This resorts emergency plans were pathetic. Thank goodness the storm wasn't too bad and only lasted 2 days. Also the flies and bees were bothersome. Will not recommend this resort in the future.

Absolutely top notch resort. We had the Presidential Suite on the 6th floor with a main balcony and 2 bedroom balconies that overlooked the common area and had a direct view of the Pacific Ocean. The sunrise was breathtaking! The food was terrific at all of the venues that we used including the sports bar, the fancy restaurant by the beach, the outdoor breakfast buffet, and the pool bar. There is a very convenient store on site that has most everything you would need. We really liked the proximity to the marina. We were able to walk to/from town almost every day. Highly recommend this resort!

Pretty nice place with lots of room for a family of four. It has three large pools and an adult only pool. There aren't a lot of drunks hanging out. The rooms are very quiet. They keep you busy with activities and games during the day. They have mini golf and a beach party one night. Food is pretty good too. The shrimp wrapped in bacon was the best meal of the week. Italian night was delicious. We did the meal plan which included all the food, drinks and snacks. We would stay here again. The bedroom had a king size bed and the sofa rolled down to accommodate two kids. There was also an additional cot in the closet.

This was my second time at Playa Grande. We did all inclusive for 4 days (in the past at different places we have been all inclusive service is poor) our service was very good! We tipped the waiter at the beginning of the day. To let them know we will take care of you if you take care of us, and left a larger tip at the end of the day. We tried to stay with the same waiter everyday. Fernando and Mariam were very good about taking care of us and our larger group of 15 people. The food at the resort is very good. We paid for all inclusive and ate and drank during the day and went down town for dinner and drinks in the evening and still got our money worth!! We will absolutely be back again!

The view from the roof to Pool is amazing! You can see in almost every direction for miles. The bars are well stocked with the good stuff and the food is pretty good. We along stayed 3 nights before we moved to a different resort a little bit north. What I liked about this Grande is you can easily walk to the docks and down town for all type of food and drinks and activities. Had some of the best street taco on my life just a block off the main drag. The rooms could be a little cleaner and service a little more prompt. Over all for the price point a solid hotel.

I have pros and cons… They overcharged us on a few occasions. When we checked in, they attempted to tell us we did not purchase the “all-inclusive” option (although we had the receipts to prove it) and charged us an extra $850. With reading previous reviews it seems like this may be a reoccurring problem. When we went to confirm our shuttle back to the airport they charged us an additional $21 for an explanation they could not give. If you are wanting to go to a more relaxing resort, I would personally steer away from this one as loud music is played all day long until about 6-8? The food is 7/10, all of the restaurants listed on the site are not always open. (Open on certain days throughout the week- and EVEN if you have an all-inclusive plan, it’s not all-inclusive. They charge more for certain foods/ meals.) When it states “all-inclusive” read the fine print. For some it may not be a big deal, but for others like myself their rules and restrictions on “all-inclusive” are a little odd. Room service is not included, certain meals/foods they charge you for, and you can’t take your food to go from a restaurant without being charged a fee) On a positive note, the restaurant and housekeeping staff were lovely, the resort is overall really clean and beautiful. We had family staying two resorts over and they were really accommodating with taking us back and forth. I do not think I would come back to this resort, but there were other guests we met during our time there that loved it. It just depends on what you are looking to get out of in a vacation.

Overall a great experience! Location is perfect right near downtown, which worked well because we chose not to do the all inclusive. We did a lot of excursions so figured it wouldn’t be worth it, however, I wish they’d had an option for all inclusive just for 1 day at least for the day we chose to spend hanging by the pool. Drinks are expensive yes, but they do offer lots of options like a happy hour on food and drinks. Waiters were attentive, and the room was massive with a beautiful view.
Also, I saw some reviews about check in and I’ll add my two cents. I was worried we’d be hassled for the time share, but honestly it was very quick. Yes we had to go see the time share staff to get pool towel slips, but when we said we were all set she was very nice about sending us off after we’d said we already made reservations at excursions ahead of time.
Definitely would stay here again!
