Great location, safe walking to marina. Pools are beautiful and you don't have to be up at 6am to reserve a pool chair. Their gym is one of the best in Cabo.
Took a 4 night 5 day trip with my parents at Grand Solmar. Absolutely perfect location and incredibly well maintained property. It was spotless clean and the staff were incredibly nice and respectful, it was the first time I didn’t feel bad for tipping unlike the US where service is trash and you still tip like crazy. These people deserved more tips, good human beings.Overall, rooms were clean and tidy, pools were clean and spa service was phenomenal!Only thing that was a miss for us was food. We are vegetarian and it was a struggle to find quality dishes. Most of the restaurants have plenty of seafood and meat options but limited on vegetarian (except the pool bars that had a few options). Additionally, food take forevver to come. I presume this is because everything is being made fresh but not sure why it takes so long for food to come. Resort was mildly filled relatively not busy.Among other things, I don’t recommend the all inclusive plan unless you drink heavy or eat a lot of food. For a family of 3 our avg spend was $300-$350 per day total, all inclusive was $450 per night which saved us some cash. There is a happy hour from 11-12pm and 3-5pm so we just bulk ordered buy one get one free drinks in those!Lastly, be wary of the receipts. They charge VAT 16% and a 5% service charge and there is a line to add a tip in all receipts. Just be mindful of that when tipping. I strongly recommend a $10-$15 tip to a pool server who will take good care of you and even slide you an occasional drink or two extra! Just play the game well!Overall, really fun experience and a nice walk along the beach too!
Sharon, the blonde salesperson, let us know, within the first minute of our member update, "Solmar has a new management company, this place was bleeding money, and we are here to get the money!" Went on and on as we walked about how they are the big guns management and are gonna "get the money. "When I brought up that solmar is not honoring our original benefits, slowly taking things away. I was wondering if it would continue with the new company. She immediately barked at me that "Listen, I'm not going to be anyone's punching bag!"I had not raised my voice, said anything accusatory, nor punched her. She was aggressive and trying to intimidate us, and it did not work.She told me, "Even though I have 18 weeks left, that someday we won't be able to book a stay at all with the type of plan you have. "So you are wanting me to sign something new at a place that is no longer honoring original contracts?The place is absolutely beautiful, location incredible. I've been an owner here since it was built. This new management is so far sad af.We will continue to come until they turn into the worms they seem to be..Oh ya, she said, "based on our present package, you don't own anything!" Sweet as trumps used drawers.
My girlfriend and I decided to visit this resort based on a recommendation for its breakfast, and I’m so glad we did. The restaurant is located right by the beach, offering stunning, impeccable views that made the experience even more special. The atmosphere was relaxed and perfect for a morning meal with the sound of the waves in the background.The food was absolutely amazing—each dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. It’s been a while since our visit, but I’m still craving that breakfast, even now that I’m back in the USA. The prices were reasonable considering the quality and the location, making it a great value for such an outstanding experience.The service was exceptional, with friendly and attentive staff who made us feel right at home. We were able to enjoy a leisurely breakfast without feeling rushed. I also heard they offer a buffet two days a week, so I would recommend checking with them to confirm the details.Overall, this place exceeded my expectations, and I definitely plan to return on my next visit. If you’re in the area, make sure to stop by for breakfast—you won’t regret it! It’s an experience worth having.
Traveler beware, while we didn't stay here, but we had planned to.Somehow, while on their Land's End website, we were "redirected" to rooms available at their Pacific Dunes resort, which is in the middle of nowhere, 30 minutes out of town with high winds and controlled access to transportation back to town.Please learn from our regrettable mistake and ensure you're actually getting a room at Land's End.
Beautiful hotel in a prime location between the ocean and rocks. Everything is extremely well kept and maintained. Service was always great and every staff member we met was very hospitable. Shout-out to Geovany at La Roca, he was our breakfast waiter most mornings and was extremely friendly and provided great service.
Most wonderful place we've ever stayed. Every room has a view of the ocean. Multiple pools, two with swim up bars and service everywhere around the pools. Service is top-notch.

First I would like to thank Marco (front desk) who welcomed us with a warm smile. It had been a long day and to be welcomed back and treated with such patience and kindness was very much appreciated. Also being met with a margarita (in a real glass!) or juice (non alcoholic) was a good touch. Thanks to all the guys outside that help with bags, arrange taxis, and man the security stations….we appreciate you too. Looking forward to our next trip.

We have had a reservation paid for over a year ago as an owner. Was informed that they placed us on a waiting list (?) and could not check us in until one day after arrival. Of course our air flight was booked months ago, but their message is a few days before arrival.We have owned with SolMar for 29 years, but new management will no longer allow us to book more than one week whereas previously we stayed several weeks in our penthouse.What happened to their great service?
This is a very comfortable hotel and top-notch resort. The staff here provide a safe, secure environment and a pleasant experience. We've returned to this resort several years, and they're always really friendly and remember us each time. We had a great time just hanging around the quiet semi private beach and the rocks at Land's End. We plan on returning over and over. Thank you to Manny and the rest of the crew for taking care of us all.
My wife and I have been loyal owners at Grand Solmar for over 10 years. We are always appreciative of the consistent level of service, superb accommodations and delicious food the resort has provided.Unfortunately, our stay in October 2024 was a significant departure from our previous experiences.Upon our arrival, our Penthouse had a strong urine odor, which made us feel sick. The first response was they did not smell anything and they sprayed chemicals in our room. We opened all the doors and tried to work with management again the next day, requesting they take out the mattresses and possibly exchange the couch. After 3 days the issue was partially resolved by Renato, however he didn’t seem to show compassion and did not follow through asking thing were ok We dealt with the urine smell for the entire stay. We just didn’t use that side of the suite.The other significant part of our stay was that the master bathroom had issues with the shower drain and the jacuzzi tub. The shower didn’t drain. That was another day waiting for confirmation that maintenance was coming to fix it.Upon trying to use the jets in the jacuzzi tub it released a lot of black particles that made it unusable and unsanitary. Another day of maintenance in our room on vacation. Despite maintenance attempts, and them telling it was fixed, I tried to use the tub again the day before departure and the problem persisted.It wasn’t until we said we were going to going to write a trip advisor review that we got a Renato to speak with us with compassion.At that point, 1 day before departure, Renato offered massages and an upgrade (if available) on our next trip (we were due back in January)We didn’t post anything, hoping that they would follow through.We are now finishing up our two-week January stay. We arrived January 05. We had given plenty of notice of our arrival and yet there were no upgrades available. (We totally understand! But don’t us give hope where there isn’t any!) We did, however, still want to meet with the new general manager to share our previous experience. After a few emails, we finally sat down with Eduardo on January 8. He seemed to listen and said he was working very hard on trying to secure an upgrade for our second week. We asked if, at minimum, he would honor the massages Renato offered from October. My wife doesn’t like them, so she asked if I could have both, and he said he would look into availability. We did not hear back from Eduardo. It took until my wife emailed him twice about the massages on January 12 & 13, and still no response. After using my email, we finally got him to respond.Overall, spending so much time on both our vacations trying to deal with management to fix issues that should not be issues, made our vacations not as enjoyable as we would have liked. Management's compassion and follow-through are lacking. Both stays did not meet the high standards we have come to expect from Grand Solmar Lands End. We hope management will address these issues to restore the quality of service and accommodations we have enjoyed in the past.
I’ll give it 3 stars only maybe it will shake the management this time in their comfy chairs.The main reason I complain about is food.Eating at Grand Solmar, no matter the restaurant, is like eating at McDonalds but paying for Michelin stars. With a lot of extra salt on everything!It’s unacceptable! Poor food quality, no healthy choices, same menu for YEARS!! And again, a lot of salt on everything, probably to hide the bad taste.We are a regular since this is the best location in Cabo, but I swear I can’t eat 90% of what they have in the menu.To management: you run a beautiful property! Do something about the kitchen! Train your chefs or simply hire better ones!I know you know what great steak is! You can’t call a piece of rubber steak, nor charge $50 for it.Your headquarter is somewhere in California. I’m pretty sure you can consult a bistro menu in LA for more fine dining, more healthy and more creative choices.Not all of us eat tacos, burritos, steak, burgers and fries all day every day.I gave you this feedback last year too. Nothing changed. Nothing changed in years.I’m writing this as I’m chewing my salty fried rice. Thank you again for a lovely diner I can’t eat, yet I paid $75 for.
Great getaway. Lots of pools and hot tubs. Good reliable menu and fantastic staff.Rooms are spacious, well equipped, and very comfortable.
My family and I come here at least once a year around Christmas time and it’s always been amazing! The staff here are so friendly and personable!This year I was just a tad bit disappointed that I didn’t have my bathrobes like I have in previous years and that the wifi service and TV didn’t work great in the suite but I still love coming here to relax and get away from all life stresses. My favorite place to be, is by the pool (by Brisa’s restaurant) having cocktails. Especially during Happy Hour! This year I had a Cocktail called Viva Mexico and it was by far my favorite cocktail the whole week!!I love that the staff, if ever given the opportunity, let you see the sea turtles hatch and be released to the ocean in a safe way for the animals and people visiting the resort. They also are good at watching the beach as you cannot get in the water due to the massive drop along the shoreline.I cannot rave about this resort enough. It’s always something magical. ❤️
DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY!! Ripoff! Their salesman stole our money. His namee is Jose Antonio and he found us at the airport and ripped us off. First we thought he was our driver, then he talked us into paying him for a fishing trip and for a whale watching trip on Cabomar. He offered us a discount so we were thrilled. We didn’t learn until a day my later that we’d been hoodwinked into a timeshare presentation. He called us the next day saying he would pick us up at 10 am for the whale watching trip on Cabomar, but we were confused since the Cabomar was an evening dinner cruise. When we asked why we had to leave so early. He said it was for a presentation at the Gran Sol Mar. We never agreed to that. I asked how long that was going to take and he said around 5 hours!? I’m 68 and I don’t have the energy for such a long day. After some arguing he agreed it would only be for an hour and he’d take us back to our hotel. The next morning I awoke with severe back pain and I told him we were unable to go anywhere. He had a fit. In the end we decided we were tired of his attitude and told him we would not be going to Sol Mar at all, that we would pay the difference between the full price and the discounted rate to keep the activity tickets. He was to bring the tickets to us at outlet hotel and we would pay him the balance and give him a big tip. He agreed but then never showed up. This went on for days and finally we were told if we would go to Gran Sol Mat we could get our refund and rebook elsewhere. When we went, they refused to give us our money back ($450!). They said they would take our refund to our hotel the following day, but they did not. We leave tomorrow and they have not returned our money. We had to rebook our activities elsewhere. Then Sol Mar tried to get us to use the activities they had booked, but we had already paid for rebooking elsewhere. It appears they will not be refunding us the $450. These folks are ripoff artists! DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY!!!
They are running a Scam that starts from the Airport. Even if you are going for a different resort, their employee will tell you your ride is arranged and sell you the excursions and ask for $$.Then they take you out and say go with the actual ride your own resort has arranged.Once you are in your own resort that you booked, they will come to pick you up and take you to this resort to sell timeshare and if you don't buy, they will become extremely rude.These scam artists need to be reported to the police.
Grand Solmar is a fantastic resort to unwind and be pampered. The staff is kind and attentive. The rooms are well appointed and most, if not all, have views of the ocean. We rarely leave the resort unless there is a specific tour we want to experience as they have everything we need to enjoy our vacation. Highly recommend.
Just came from a presentation and it was all great until they mentioned having to put a down payment of 20% which I could not do. Taxi rides we promised and we go them but not at the time consistently mentioned during the morning(12pm). My review is based on the promises made. To get a ride to and from the resort, specially to be back at my hotel by 12pm for prior engaments. We arrived at 8am was fed breakfast and was presented the opportunity to own a timeshare. I was ready and had my card ready but was not able to make the minimum amount. This made the team disregarding my time and pushed harder for a sale. I gave in hoping that would speed things up so I can make my appointment at 12pm. I don't even know what I paid for because I just needed to get my taxi. At 11:34am we were told that our taxi is coming. After being released and them saying our taxi is coming it wasnt coming! After waiting 10 mins i asked about our taxi and was told they have to call for one. I thought 40 mins ago our taxi was already called?12:20pm our taxi finally arrives. Bad review to the sales team for not respecting the time. For not mentioning a down-payment till the end. Dragging on the sale not being able to close on the deal because it wasnt information given upfront. I felt rushed and confused on what I just bought. It's like if you don't buy what they want you to buy they toss you away and have you find your way back to a taxi.
The resort is very nice but there are a few gotcha type moves that folks should know. First kids are not allowed to in the hot tubs - at all. Floats and pool toys are a no go in the pools with the bars. Neither a deal breaker but was a bummer for the kids. If you break the “rules” they take your room number down and talk to you. Room service is not included in all inclusive, neither is ice cream. Those were not clearly communicated at check inOverall service was wonderful and their Thanksgiving party was excellent. Brandon went out of his way every night to take care of us. But the coffee in your room that you make yourself is also not included in the all inclusive package.
This place is absolutely amazing!! Had a complete blast. The service at the pool was absolutely on point. I highly recommend this place. We stayed in a studio and it was definitely big enough for 2. There is a full size fridge and microwave and a 2 burner electric cook top. Thank you everyone who waited on me and the wife you were all incredible.
My daughter was there first part of June. She is a co-owner at Rancho San Lucas and stayed at lands end. The service was terrible. They were not helpful at all when asked asked a question. The microwave, the 2 TV's did not work, the dead bolt lock did not work. We used to own at Playa Grande and we supposedly upgraded. I wish I could get rid of this upgrade and go back to Playa Grande where we never had a problem and the staff and service was always great.
I have not been a reviewer on google, many reasons but mainly because I am also a restaurant owner which serves close to 100,000 people a year. We strive to do things right and once in a while you have an issue and I teach my staff to work with the customer to the upmost. That said, I visited this lovely place this past week and most everything was great however, I thought the food was just ok. We decided to keep going to each restaurant and see if it was better. Wednesday night we attended an onsite dinner that had many food set up stations, live music and great dancers. My wife and I were with family for the week and we both love ceviche. The other two do not and did not have. Around 11 PM I got violently ill and my wife was ill also. I have had food poisoning before and I knew right away what it was. I was in the room the rest of the trip. We called the Food andBeverage manager, who did call us back a while later and said a doctor would be up to see me in around 20-30 minutes. Well, he never showed and I never heard anything from management. Not only did it ruin the rest of my trip, but we paid to go fishing the next morning and I was out of that money too...several hundreds of dollars. At check out, I tried to get a managers card or leave a note and the lady at check out had no interest. Just collected my money for my horrible last 3 days. Beautiful place however, but was not impressed with management.
We stayed in the master suite as a family of four. The room size is big and comes with a large balcony with Ocean view. 2 bathrooms and a decent kitchen. The property has multiple pools but we ended up going to the same pool that had a wet bar. Multiple restaurants on the property but we ended up going out to the city for food (Uber). There is live music band on Saturday which was amazing. Overall, we had a relaxing time. Only one thing to understand is that food is quite expensive here. Almost same if not more than SF Bay Area.One more thing to note if you are taking the timeshare presentation. They give you a food and beverage coupon for $400 to buy for $140. But you can only apply this to actual food rather than taxes etc. so be careful as they don’t tell this upfront. This was our first timeshare presentation but felt like wasted 3hrs.
Excellent in every way but be warned that during late May and early June the winds are intense and make the daytime temperatures very chilly.
We visited a few weeks ago and had a wonderful time. We spend hours at the sunrise pool and our server Martin took excellent care of us day in and day out. We plan to go back again this year and hope to see Martin again. David Jesus also wanted to make sure we were enjoying Lands End. Thank you,
It was my first time at an „all inclusive“ resort - we had an amazing time here. There are many smaller and bigger pools to choose from, the food and drinks they serve everywhere was just delicious. Tacos, burritos, Chesadillas in all sorts and tastes. The room with the ocean view was incredible, everything and everywhere it was spotless clean. You can walk along the beach but you’re not allowed to swim because of the ripcurls and breaking waves. From the resort you just walk down the hill and you will find yourself in the marina area with loads of beautiful fishing boats and more bars and restaurants if you feel like it. Best to go on a walk around 6:30 in the morning when still everything is quiet around the marina. The resort is well worth the money because everything is just perfect. The staff is friendly and helpful. Make sure you bring dollars in cash to tip the waiters.

My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend trip over New Year's, 12/31-1/2. Our stay was WONDERFUL. The resort is immaculate and breathtakingly beautiful. Our room was huge and comfortable. The location is PERFECT, as it is walking distance from the pier (where the excursions leave from) and from Downtown.The food/drink package is pricey at $160/day/person, but the food and drinks were delicious. All of the restaurants and bars exceeded our expectations. The pools are incredible, and we were able to look out on the beach, and I felt like I was in scene from "From Here to Eternity." Ranulfo served us several times, and he was THE BEST. We could not ask for a kinder or more attentive server. I cannot stop daydreaming about our trip and I cannot wait to return. Cheers!
My favorite resort I have stayed at in Cabo. We decided to stay here after getting a deal( 650$ a night? Quite a bit cheaper than what I have seen it in the past). I have stayed at the regular Somar and was not impressed at all. We really enjoyed this compared to the other resorts we have stayed at. Even the standard room is amazing. Service was fantastic. But this location is what does it for me. I know most people don’t like to stay on this side do the the larger waves. But we frequently saw whales from the pool. We could walk down to the end and climbed the rocks over to divorce beach (probably wouldn’t be great for kids or older folks). Food was good but not great. We spent around $50-80 on lunch and $100+ on dinner. If we had to do it again I think a dinner plan or all inclusive could have helped but honestly didn’t matter too much. Definitely will be staying here again next time.
Booked an all inclusive trip here over Christmas for a 3 night stay. The resort is beautiful and huge. Our room was what you would expect at a resort and average, but very nice, clean, and comfortable. We were very pleased with the oceanfront view. The Asian restaurant had great food and my boyfriend loved the sashimi. The sports bar ended up being our spot and where we ate every meal for the rest of the trip and the bartenders there are fantastic. The coffee bar has great coffee. Almost everything we needed was included in the all-inclusive, but higher end steaks, alcohol, and lobster aren't covered. The pools are nice, clean, and well kept. The service in all aspects was fantastic. If you head down to the beach, you'll find some amazing rocks that are a perfect photo op. The hotel is located less than a 10 minute walk from the marina where you'll find shopping, food, peddlers, bars, and excursions galore. We felt safe the entire time and loved Cabo. We'd gladly stay at this hotel again in the future.
-Be careful if you think you are booking an ocean view room! Our patio didn't have metal railings like most other ones, it had a wall instead. If you sat in the patio, you could only see the wall. Only if you were standing, you could see a little of the ocean!! I do not call this an ocean view room.-There was no hot water! We had to run the facets for a few minutes before getting what was just lukewarm water! Total waste of water.-The bed was uncomfortable and made squeaky noise.By the way, when I complained about all that, they said they are fully booked and can't move me to another room. I think this was an excuse!-I booked a private round trip ride from the airport to the resort (the picture showed a big van). Main reason was that I wanted a nice big car. Well, on the way back, the resort put us in the smallest taxi you could find and when I asked, they said it is a private ride and check your booking that says ride back to the airport is in a taxi!!Having paid over $1000/night for this resort, I did not expect the above issues!
My husband and I just spent a week at your wonderful resort. The staff was always polite, professional and friendly. Our consierge assistance , done by Abel and Roberto was very helpful in making dinner reservations and culinary reservations. We usually enjoyed breakfast in the cafe. The staff was very nice and the food was presented beautifully and delicious. Jack did a great job serving our poolside drinks. Please tell Manny Joe and Peggy said hello and thank you for his help and welcoming personality every day. We will definitely come back if we return to Cabo. Thank you for making our 50h wedding anniversary getaway so enjoyable and special. We picked the perfect place to celebrate.
