This was by far one of the worst hotel stays I’ve ever had. The room was dirty, with cockroaches crawling around, and the bedsheets clearly hadn’t been changed. Despite booking for 3 people, there was no sofa bed provided.
The staff were rude and unhelpful unless tipped. At the buffet, the coffee machine didn’t even have milk—and it stayed that way for days without being refilled. The food overall was terrible, with barely any vegetarian options. Even the meat dishes were poorly prepared. The only decent dining option was the Italian restaurant, where the staff actually made an effort—but they kept running out of food.
The parties were another disaster. They refused to serve proper alcohol and instead gave out premade “shots” that had no real alcohol in them.
The worst part? We had a near-death experience at the beach and lost four phones. There was no lifeguard at the post at the time. When help finally arrived, the lifeguards didn’t know what to do—they only had basic, ineffective first-aid training. Despite this failure on their part, the hotel had the audacity to charge us for a doctor.
Management was absolutely useless. Stephano, one of the managers, was just being a complete douche—no apology, no remorse, no acknowledgment of the fact that a lifeguard was missing during a life-threatening incident. He didn’t offer help, support, or even basic empathy. It was like they didn’t care at all that guests nearly drowned.
Communication is a nightmare—none of the staff seem to speak English, which is shocking for a resort that claims to cater to international tourists. They were extremely petty about room keys and towel cards and constantly tried to charge guests for random things.
Avoid this place at all costs. It’s not just about poor service—it’s a safety risk. Not worth your money, your time, or your peace of mind.

My stay at Riu Los Cabos San Lucas was absolutely fantastic! From the moment I arrived, the service was great every staff member was friendly, professional, and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure everything was perfect.

Had an amazing time celebrating my sister’s bachelorette weekend! The vibes were amazing. However, on our last night, there was an incompetent, very rude human that decided that since our group didn’t make “reservations” we couldn’t eat at Krystal’s steakhouse. We observed as other people were immediately seated. There was also a group there that said they were seated as soon as they arrived. His name was Manuel. Maybe he should learn policies, customer service and an ounce of respect before he’s given the position to pose as a host. Other than that, the resort is absolutely beautiful and we had a wonderful time.
We travel to Mexico every year and this was my first experience at a Riu resort. Front desk guy not sure if his name was Sergio, doesn't know how to treat people. He makes you think you are stupid every time you ask questions. Never experienced this at any hotel before. When we checked out another girl was similar to him. It's ridiculous they make a big deal if you lose key cards. Very inconvenient because most of the hotels we stayed just use the bracelet to open the doors. Entertainment for families was boring. Food was bad. Usually dinner restaurants are better but it was not the case here. If you want to eat shrimp it will be hard to do so because they add scallops or other cheap seafood to anything instead of just shrimp. They can't do basic dishes right. Like pastas or even salads. They are in serious need of a chef to teach people how to cook. My husband order a fish at the Italian restaurant and I saw the lady frying it in very used dark oil and didn't even use something to remove the excess oil and no seasoning. Drinks were horrible too. They have the cheapest alcohol bottles

You can't get in the beach, so we had to leave the resort and when we were out if there we took advantage and ate at different restaurants so we can enjoy good meals. Also, they have beach gazebos that usually at other hotels you have access because its part of the hotel but here you had to pay extra $50. Gym sucks. I will not be going to any riu anymore.

Ubers are not allowed to pick you up. It's about a ten minute walk with suitcases to the pick up spot - which is not signposted, or marked on the map. They also don't make this clear anywhere, so your first uber / or trip you will be very late for.

absolutely loved spending my vacation here, definitely want to come back! there’s so much to do and a great place to relax and have drinks. customer service was always amazing, definitely recommend for a getaway trip with significant other or with friends! amazing price as well.
Our third time here. The service and people are still wonderful, best part of the stay. I boasted about the dinning and food to our first time to Riu Palace Cabo traveling companions. This time, except for the buffet, the cuisines were terrible. The worse in my frequent all-inclusive experiences. 2 years ago the fine dining food here was great. We had a nice stay.
Just left here yesterday was amazing resort, everyone is so nice here i asked for a drink they brought it to me and poured it, and they pulled out the chair for me to sit all of the workers were just overly kind. Pool activities were fun the entertainment team was fun although i wasn’t old enough to do some of the activities but aye it was fun. Also the food was so good i had so many plates the french toast is to die for.
We had a good stay, but would like to mention a few things.. We paid for the Elite Club rewards and perks. The Elite pools, cabanas and restaurants were not monitored for olive colored wrist-band patrons, what's the point in paying extra if everyone is allowed in those areas? The pool areas are baron with no palm trees at all, just cacti. Umbrellas were taken by 6;30 in the morning. Going to be very hot in those areas. entertainment was really not much of anything, however the White Party at the Santa Fe was awesome! Guacamole Restaurant food wasn't the best, but the Promenade was the place to be for breakfast and lunch. Room was nice and clean, staff was ok. We like being able to share the other hotels although we didn't use except for the White Party. Adults only is best. Would stay again...
We went for a four-day getaway to Riu Palace. The property is large but not unmanageable. The staff attentive, friendly and helpful. As most all-inclusive resorts go, they are not known for the quality of food. We were pleasantly surprised at Riu Palace. The choices for us vegetarians were plenty! The presentation and taste were also commendable!! The specialty restaurants cold manage to tweak dishes on the menu to make them Veg. The drinks in the pool bars were ok but the ones in the lobby were exceptional. The room was well appointed and bathroom had basic amenities. Linen quality was also good.
A minor issue - the signs around the restaurants showed Bombay as being open at 7 pm in the evening and also had a menu displayed. We went back at 7:30 pm for dinner only to see that the restaurant was closed and undergoing renovation!
Two days later it became a Mexican restaurant! No signs or fanfare or notification that a new restaurant was open on the property!
A minor issue - the signs around the restaurants showed Bombay as being open at 7 pm in the evening and also had a menu displayed. We went back at 7:30 pm for dinner only to see that the restaurant was closed and undergoing renovation!
Two days later it became a Mexican restaurant! No signs or fanfare or notification that a new restaurant was open on the property!
The hotel itself was amazing. Very clean, crew were constantly cleaning the common areas , beautiful views, great variety of food. It would have gotten a 5 star if it wasn’t for hotel/airport transfer issue we had. They don’t offer transfers if you don’t book directly using the hotel website(that’s what the hotel staff told me once I asked for a hotel transfer). I had to book a shuttle through Grey line. They have a representative (Ricardo) inside the hotel as soon as I arrived at the hotel I met with Ricardo and scheduled my shuttle for hotel to airport. The pickup was scheduled at 12:25 pm and thinking I met with a representative, I didn’t expect this to be an actual scam!! I waited at lobby entrance from 12:00pm till 12:50pm, no Grey line shuttle showed up, no one announced our name or anything. I kept asking the valets crew if our shuttle is here and they said no! At 12:50 I sent a message to Ricardo asking what’s going on and he responded the shuttle was there nobody showed up and he left!!! He also send me generic photo of the front of a van( no logo or anything on the van)!! Just like that! No more help and he stopped responding to my messages. No refunds nothing! I got last minute cab and made it to my flight but this left a very bad memory of this hotel in my mind. They need to think about guest transfers and work with reputable shuttles only.
Amazing stay here having two ocean view adjoining rooms. Rooms were very clean and up to date with no issues. Service was top notch. Great food and drinks. Line ups move fast especially at the bars. Entertainment was fun to watch. Property is very beautiful with amazing pools. Love this place. Coming back here again May 29 and I can’t wait!

-A bridesmaid walked in on an male employee actively going through her purse in her room.
-A relative of the groom had all her jewelry stolen, including her wedding ring.
-We had all of our cash stolen from our safe, and to this day, we have no idea how they accessed it.
The worst part? Management did not care at all. Their response was dismissive—they simply told us to fill out a form and insisted no one besides guests had accessed the rooms (which was clearly false). There were no attempts to investigate, no compensation, and no accountability.
Even the police admitted this is a common issue at this hotel due to the lack of cameras outside the rooms. This resort does not take security seriously, and unfortunately, guests are paying the price.
If you value your safety and belongings, stay somewhere else.

The service was top notch here. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family. The food was great at every place we visited. The rooms are a little older, but they were kept clean. The whole place was kept clean. They had some cleaning something all the time. I even saw someone walking around checking the pool water. Blanca went above and beyond at the breakfast buffet. Oscar kept checking on us while at the pool loungers.

The pools and other amenities were great. Staff was very helpful and kind. The rooms were large, and comfortable. However, the quality of the food was unpredictablethe biggest. The Italian restaurant was the best meal we had, but the Steakhouse was not worth the wait.
My daughter and I had a terrific time. Enjoyed the accessibility to adjoining resorts. Plenty to do or not do. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Easy to arrange off-site activities. Loved the camel ride and arch tour. Clean.
I recently stayed at the Riu Palace in Los Cabos, and it was absolutely wonderful. The grounds are beautifully maintained—clean, meticulous, and well-manicured. There are several pools to choose from, catering to different preferences. If you’re looking for a lively atmosphere, the pool with the swim-up bar is the busiest. For a more peaceful and relaxing experience, the larger pools are perfect.

The resort is beautiful and clean. The staff was very accommodating. Certain restaurants on property should advertise the need for reservations, and the lack of elevators in the resident quarters was difficult to navigate. However, the entertainment was wonderful, and there were adult only spaces to enjoy.
We loved the first come first serve à la cart restaurants. This was so much better than getting up at the crack of dawn to make reservations. We had the steakhouse, Krystal, and Italian. Krystal was our favourite. The resort has a huge beautiful beach that is suitable to swim and play in the rolling waves for people who know how to swim well (not for people with mobility issues or who aren’t strong swimmers). You can walk or run about 1km down the beach to the marina or you can walk the other direction down the same nice sandy beach for also about 1km to some cool rock formations. Fantastic upkeep of the venue! Everywhere you go there are employees cleaning and doing maintenance on the property. We had a garden view room and with that we still had a partial ocean and pool view. There are lots of amenities/things to do at the resort, especially since you can also access the Santa Fe if you want something different. The Palace has almost no waits for bar service and has a special “Palace” service area” at the Riu Parties also with no waits and premium drinks. We were spoiled with amazing food, friendly staff, and felt it was great value for the money we spent. Contrary to what I had read prior to arriving, we had no issues getting lounge chairs on the beach or at the pool and could change spots throughout the day without issues finding new ones to sit in. The entertainment was good and the water slides were a blast.

They pick you up straight from the airport and bring you to the hotel. Room was the perfect size, view was amazing, every morning there was turn down service, multiple buffets to choose from and everything you can just ask for and have because it's all inclusive, you just ask for a taxi or a ride somewhere and you get it in minutes and the Rui parties are SO fun we loved every minute of it. Planning on going back again one day too.
I'm thinking of going there on my next vacation. Thank goodness I saw too many notes on social media that they rob you in this hotel when you leave the room. Careful! They leave you with nothing!

We stayed here for a family vacation! 6 adults and one child! We had a great time. The entertainment team is amazing! (Ivan- Sebastian-Orlando and all the others) get to know them and have some fun! They made my daughter feel so welcome and always made sure we had fun! Our housekeeper was a gem & the servers! Important to note that you cannot swim in the ocean in front of the hotel- the currents are too dangerous. But it's beautiful and you can dip your feet, tan etc. also don't ever take the first price the beach sellers give you. Dont pay for anything over $10 🙂 Take a water taxi and they can drop you off at a beach that's swimable! Worth it!
Only small complaint would be to have a little bit of a thicker blanket in the rooms- gets chilly with AC - luckily we had our own and that worked. All in all - great time!

Customer service is absolutely incredible. They upgraded our room for free also decorated our room for my wife birthday. The pool is absolutely relaxing with enough room to move around. You have access to all the other resort’s perfect for the kids to hit the pool. The food selection is amazing along with the drinks. The night time shows are incredible as well. Definitely will be returning again.
This is our second time at Riu Palace, and so far, I have no complaints. The room is cleaned daily, the food is great and there's a big variety. The pool is always clean, and the bars are clean, and you can get your drinks pretty quickly.
Not to mention, in the dining area, there's a lady (Maricela) she goes above and beyond to make you feel like at home. She always has a smile on her face and prepares your table by the time you come back with your food.

The scenery and staff are lovely. There are many activities happening each day and the food is amazing. Not much to look forward to outside the resort as it is on a desert coast. Don't drink the tap water but the water they give you at the restaurants is safe.

This is our go to Cabo resort. Friends and family have joined us. Many different restaurants on site. Pools aren’t overly crowded. People are much friendlier than we saw in Cancun. We went 3 different times over 2 years. Swim out pool is the way to go. Reserve early. It’s nice to hang out in your own pool and people watch the main pool. 4 bottles of liquor in your room that they will refill on request. Rooms are always stocked with waters, soda, mixers, and beer. Employees are very nice. A small tip goes a long way and your drink glass will never be empty. Beach, sand, and ocean are not as nice as Cancun. I prefer Cabo, wife prefers Cancun. I think Cabo has a bigger bang for your buck than Cancun. The vacationers are a lot different too.
