Our stay at Riu Palace Las Americas was fantastic. The rooms were a bit outdated and musty but the view from our room was great. The service at this resort was by far the best we have had in many years at many different resorts. Viri at check-in and check-out was amazing and always had a welcoming smile and catered to our every request. Abu at the inside bar was such a pleasure to talk to and his detail to services was unexpected - he remembered drink orders for us and others each daily visit. We would definitely visit this resort again and Riu will probably be our destination of choice when available.

RIU Palace Las Americas exceeded our expectations in every way. The location is perfect - within walking distance to gift shops and nightlife. Their private beach is very nice and their pools are awesome. The service EVERYWHERE on the resort is great-whether you are in the pool, by the pool, in one of the many restaurants or bars. Ive never had such awesome pool side service before. The rooms are spacious with very good housekeeping and 24 hour room service to bring food or drinks anytime of day or night. I highly recommend this all inclusive resort. The only negative I could say is the room did feel a little damp when we first got there but we brought some damp-rid containers and kept the overhead fan going so it was not an issue the rest of our stay.

Our stay at RIU Las Americas was absolutely amazing!!! This was my second time staying here and I already have a trip planned with my besties in March. Check in was so smooth, from the moment you walk in the door and greeted by the gentleman receiving your bags, being handed a glass of champagne and the seamless check in process! I had an issue with my door lock last visit and this visit they gave me an amazing room upgrade and reassured me it wouldn’t happen again! Thank you Joselyn!!!! So many people to list that made our stay so great! Ernesto and Ulysses at the theater bar, Fidel, Iris and of course Abu at the inside bar. Wilbur and July at poolside (plus many more!) The RIU Fit team, Alex, Miguel, David and the girls! And then all of our waiters at the restaurants!! Amazing food and drinks our entire stay! I have no complaints!!! Amazing and counting down the days for my vacation in March!!!

This hotel was one of the best all inclusive stays I have been to. The staff are what makes this place exceptional. Miguel was always fun and energetic with poolside activities and Fidel and Abu were top notch servers at the lobby bar. We made so many friends and really enjoyed our girls trip over the course of 5 days. The food was wonderful, and having celiac they were very knowledgeable and accommodating. No reactions at all this entire trip and plenty of yummy options to eat! The staff is constantly cleaning and the activities and Riu parties were an absolute blast! My one suggestion would be softer mattresses, but just my preference. We did have an issue with the door lock backing and batteries falling out, however staff fixed it right away when I called the front desk. We will be visiting again in 2027, had no desire to look elsewhere as this place felt like a home away from home. We also used the spa and it was very relaxing; much needed after a few days of drinking!

This is a beautiful resort and it's kept very clean. I would stay here again. The food options are good but, as a pescatarian, I just wish they had some seafood options for breakfast every morning (dinner and lunch options were good, but fish or shrimp for breakfast would have been nice. The cold salmon bagel wasn't it for the breakfast menu). The entertainment could be better. More games are needed at the resort. I wish they had a pool table at the resort. I loved having transportation to and from the airport. A taxi was always readily available to take us anywhere we needed to go. The small open bar in the rooms was a nice touch, but I think they should consider adding a snack bar to the rooms as well. There are at least three spas across the street that are SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than the spa at the resort for the exact same services (I went to three of them during my stay). The stores across the street also sell the same items that are in the store at the resort for a MUCH CHEAPER price. No one wants to be in the cold jacuzzi in the resort's spa and it really does not make sense to keep it cold, especially when there were too many people trying to use the hot one while the cold one was always left unused. The staff at the reservation desk should have a contact for every company that assists people with booking at the resort to help contact those agencies when needed. My pick-up time for transportation to the airport (through destination services/expedia) was not on time and when I asked for help to get an update they said there was nothing they could do and no one they could call. Overall, my stay was good and relaxing.

We honestly couldn’t fault this hotel. It was spotless, rooms were large, we paid a little more for the sea view which was spectacular. Food was excellent, the choice nearly overwhelming and we always found something to enjoy….. sometimes too much!
But it was the staff and especially the entertainments team that made it, everyone went that extra distance to ensure we would be happy, really can’t wait to go back sometime. As for a negative, well for us there wasn’t any, we really couldn’t find fault with this trip.

We had a lovely time during our 8 day/7 night stay. Check in was seamless and quick. We had excellent service at all the restaurants we ate at and at the beach. We both enjoyed 80 minute deep massages at the Renova Spa. Staff was very friendly and helpful anywhere we were on the resort. Special shout outs to Marlene at El Romero and Humal at Black & White and Irma at Renova Spa. All three provided exemplary service!
Our room was definitely dated, had a musty smell anytime the air conditioner was running, but was very clean. After two days, I started having congestion issues so we stopped using the air conditioner, used only the ceiling fan at night, and kept the slider open in the morning & at night until we were going to sleep. My congestion cleared up by our fourth day.
Transportation from the airport was our only poor experience of the entire trip, which is outsourced by the resort. It took us over an hour to get a shuttle, only getting added to an outgoing shuttle because I chased down an employee. Again, this was an outsourced service, but should be considered when making transportation decisions.

We had an absolutely amazing stay at Hotel Riu Las Américas in Cancún! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcomed with their friendliness and professionalism. Check-in was smooth, and the hospitality remained outstanding throughout our entire stay.

The Riu was so awesome, I can't put into words the exceptional service we received. Food was amazing, staff is surperb. The cleanliness of the hotel is out of this world. Shout out to Felipe at the beach, Enrique at the pool and Boa at the bar, if you are lucky enough to have them as your servers you are blessed. I can't wait to be back next year. Way to go Riu you hot it right thank you for the amazing time. Your the BEST!!!! If I could give more stars it would be a 10

Absolutely love this place: everything was amazing: people on the resort- very welcoming, friendly, feels like you at home, the room is clean, have enough space for everything, such an awesome, delicious diversity of foods, you will never be disappointed and hungry there, with buffet and 6 different restaurants: love the food, everywhere- clean. They have entertainment too: live music. It was one the best vacation. The location of this place is great. Everything was perfect: ocean view, weather, sand, temperature……
We will be back for sure. Words can not describe. You have to go and explore and experience for herself.

Amazing Stay at Riu Cancún Las Américas – November 16–24
A group of seven of us (ages 25–35) from Toronto, Canada, stayed at Riu Cancún Las Américas from November 16–24, and the entire experience was incredible. This resort truly delivered on service, comfort, safety, and fun.
Exceptional Staff
The staff here made our trip unforgettable. Special thanks to:
* Angie, Lorena, and Enrique (bar staff – fun, friendly, and so attentive)
* Louis (front desk – extremely helpful and welcoming)
* Alejandro (entertainment – kept the vibe lively all week)
* Randy (guest services – went above and beyond, especially with booking excursions

The small touches are what made this resort stand out:
* Housekeeping multiple times a day
* Showers and fresh towels in the pool bathroom for people with late check-outs
* Secure luggage storage
* Strong security presence at Riu parties and around the resort, including police patrolling the beach and bar/club areas nearby — we always felt safe
* Cool, stylish decor in the main entrance and entertainment lounge
* Staff constantly cleaning the beach and decks around beach and pools
* Even though the resort was fully booked, it never felt crowded

One night, a family from Texas used a homophobic slur toward two members of our group in the lounge by the front desk. Staff intervened immediately. They addressed the behaviour head-on, had the family sign paperwork confirming that discriminatory, racist, or homophobic conduct is strictly prohibited at Las Americas, and made sure we felt supported. Their professionalism and zero-tolerance policy meant a lot to us.
Final Thoughts
Riu Cancún Las Américas delivered everything we hoped for and more: great food, beautiful spaces, lots of activities, and an incredibly dedicated staff. Even during a sold-out week, the resort felt comfortable and well-run. Despite one negative encounter with another guest, the way staff handled it made us feel respected and safe. We’d absolutely stay here again — highly recommended!

Absolutely amazing! Very laid back, beautiful, old world, classy, spectacular service! If you want party scene, it’s just a shuttle away and then you come back to tranquility. The water is aqua blue, sand is white and soft as baby powder. Mediterranean restaurant is a must! I was so sad leaving, I’d definitely come back to stay! I got the junior suite room 714 with a jacuzzi on the terrace. You can’t get a better panoramic view!

This was our second trip to HRPLA-our first was nearly 5 years ago when Covid was shutting everything down. We were complete satisfied with everything HRPLA offered us-including an upgrade to our suite reservation which was a pleasant surprise! The staff were friendly, the food, including the buffet, was very good, and the entertainment was a great time. We are looking forward to returning and creating more good time memories! Thank you for an amazing visit!

Great vacation. Enjoyed three full days at the beginning of November. Sunny and 85* with a drink by the pool or ocean is a great way to kick off the snowy season.
Staff was excellent (friendly, quick, positive) and I really enjoyed the "Riu Party" set-up that they have on select days w/ a shuttle to a different resort.
Some standard comments, if you're familiar w/ all inclusives this won't be a surprise.
* Food was fine. Nothing to write home about, but the buffet always has a variety of options.
* A common sentiment is "drinks are watered down." I don't think this is true, but I do think the wine and beer are lower ABV, and also that the liquor is from cheap brands.
* The visuals of the resort are great, but furniture/bedding throughout (and in rooms) are dated or not as well-kept.
MY BIGGEST CON: I wish the staff would require each guest to use hand sanitizer before using the buffet or restaurant. They did not, and it was something you needed to ask for if you were using it yourself. This is common practice on cruise ships.

Absolutely the best vacation we've had in Cancun. We LOVE the location. The beach was everything we hoped for. Aside from the occasional thunderstorm and some pretty intense, the waters were mostly calm, clear and wonderful. You have no control of mother nature! Food, OMG Im not a picky person with food, but I have been to some places where it killed it for us to ever return. RIU Palace food is great. The buffet was great. The restaurants were great. Our personal favorite was Sukura and it's staff. We most definitely will be back. Bringing family and friends next time. We can not WAIT to go back.

Our first visit to this hotel was February 2025. We have now returned in October 2025. Our return visit was due to the excellent customer service the beautiful location and the wonderful hotel. Yes the rooms could use some updating. And yes, the food could use some improvement. Although the restaurant staff were great. However let me tell you this there is nowhere, you will get better service at the reception desk from people like Gustavo, Ernesto, Irving, Marie, and Giovany. Nor will you get better service at the pool from a waiter by the name of Wilbur. The entertainment staff with Johnny and Samantha were also fantastic. We were very fortunate to meet the new hotel manager Maria a lovely young lady. I am sure she will have a long career with the Riu organization . She seems to be detailed and caring manager. With all of this being said, my husband and I are sold on the Riu brand of hotels. Going forward we will look to book our trips where we can find Riu hotels. If they can all live up to Palace, Las Americas and it’s staff than boy all of our vacations will be fantastic! Thank you, Palace Las Americas for another wonderful stay! And thank you to its fantastic staff.

Positives: The staff was professional and speedy. The restaurants at night were pretty good quality. For a party and fun events, there are many options. The price was very reasonable for an all-inclusive hotel in this location.
Negatives: The rooms are very dated and worn. The bed was uncomfortable and the bedding old and worn out. The balcony door did not lock (it would be possible for someone to get into the room from a neighboring balcony) which did not feel safe to me. For a party hotel where music and events run late, I was called multiple times (despite my do not disturb sign on my door which was the only way to request to sleep in) starting at 9am already asking about my airport transportation when I would leave in 4 days as well as selling sightseeing.
For the price and fun events, this is a good spot and a great location near lots of clubs and restaurants. If you want a good party, this a good option. I left early and moved to a different hotel as I wanted something with more of a party/relaxation balance. I also want to be able to secure my doors at night for safety.

Stayed here for 3 nights in August and it was great, I have stayed in 2 Rius before but this was my first adults only one and i can tell the difference (in a good way). Loved the food and drink and entertainment by the pool. The lunch buffet and Mexican dinner restaurant were my faves. They hold the parties in a different venue and arrange transport - ideal if you aren’t a party person and just want to enjoy the resort. Only downside is we had to wait until 4pm for our room as they were fully booked, and after a long day of travelling they isn’t ideal. But oh my I loved the mariachi band, margaritas and taco station by the pool, which they switch up every evening.

I appreciated that allergens were labeled (at the buffet and through the restaurant QR codes) which made dining much easier, and had a designated vegan section at the buffet. That said, it would have been nice to have at least one vegan dessert option beyond just fruit..

Really enjoyed our stay here! The hotel is very elegant, with 3 beautiful pools, a small clean beach, and several good dining options. The staff were helpful, and the location was convenient for exploring Cancun and the neighboring region.

The staff is everything!!!
They are the most friendly, hard working people I've ever met! The beach is small but nice. The ocean is very calm and swimmable here. The location is great and very walkable to get a massage, shop, or visit a restaurant outside the resort. I highly recommend this hotel!

It was a good place to stay. Good value for the money. The buffet wasn't great and I could rarely find something I wanted to eat. The dinner restaurants are good though. The regular ocean view rooms were nothing to brag about, no luxuries, but good views. Service was wonderful.

The rooms had a very potent humidity smell, there was rust on everything, and the shower was 3-Star hotel quality. Both my gf and I came home sick with stomach issues, but we can trace it back to anything specific. The pool was fun, and the beach location was fine as well. We just dreaded needing to go back to our room every night with a hard bed, outdated furniture, and a borderline gross bathroom. Our fridge was also broken 😞
Like some resorts, it was Pepsi only which is always disappointing. The staff was great and we had no issues at all. The restaurants included a Mexican restaurant which was good, a buffet which was mid, and both a steak and hibachi restaurant which we didn’t have time to try as a result of needing to end our trip early.

Quite an enjoyable place, rooms need updating and get quite noisy at night with all the people coming and going. The variety of food is quite good the Japanese restaurant and the buffet were our favorites, drinks were plentiful and the swim-up bar was great. The service was great and the people also work really hard.

This was my second visit here and it's been great both times. The service was impeccable. I'm not sure if I understand why they have the beds so close together but it isn't a deal breaker. The entire place is beautiful! The staff is always ready to help you with a smile and kindness.

I can't say enough good things about this resort! We stayed for 6 nights and had an amazing time. We tried all of the restaurants, Krystal was our favorite. The beach and pools were clean. Every staff members we encountered was amazing. We spent most time at the party pool and swim up bar. Every hour on the hour there's an activity. I'm looking forward to returning!

This was my wife and I first trip to Mexico. The locals are amazing, kind, welcoming and fun. Absolutely Amazing is the words to describe this trip.
The resort is beyond amazing! It is impossible to only name a few of their amazing staff members because their complete staff has been extremely helpful, kind, caring, joyful, welcoming, just AMAZING!! We will definitely return for future vacations.

We have only been to a few but this was our best all-inclusive resort yet in Cancun. The service was always great from everyone. The resort offered a louder party pool where you could take part in activities all day, but there were plenty of quieter areas as well. The beach gets a lot of shade which I appreciated but others complained about... Regardless, you can always find sun or shade which is great! Drinks were as expected and food was a bit better than average. Lots of choices and everything tasted fresh! We appreciated that they cycled different options on different days. We also went to a Riu party one night over at the Caribe resort which was fun! Transportation was provided by the hotel as well. Can't imagine someone giving this place a 3 star or less review - it's a great value and we hope to come back again!

Magnificent hotel, as it is rare these days to find hotels with so much charm and authenticity, they are often too modern and lack warmth. The Riu Palace Las Americas hotel is an exceptional hotel on all levels of service, from the choice of restaurants, to the food, to the staff, to the architecture. Your hotel is worthy as it is called a palace. The only remark would be small decorative elements to improve but these are my own tastes (a little in the rooms: an entire bed and decorative elements to improve, the carpet which leads into the rooms, these would be the only elements). You have a very beautiful hotel with a magnificent beach. We had an excellent stay and we will come back to stay at your hotel.

Overall service was good. Although the dining service at Don Roberto could have been better if we were white, as they cater to that crowd very quickly. We waited for a very long time for drinks while all 5 service servers were busy runing and seating them. Empty tables had drinks on their tables while we waited halfway thru our meal and had to ask twice. Disappointing experience.

The hotel is nice! However it needs an update if you look closely at the details you can see it’s a bit old. The rooms are fine, large and very clean. Our room had a problem with low water pressure and not a lot of hot water. Staff offered to move us but couldn’t guarantee the other rooms were better. The best was the cleaning — the rooms were so clean as well as the rest of the hotel. You could always see someone cleaning something. They cleaned the room every day and they changed the sheets halfway through our stay at our request. Mini bar was okay (beer and soda as well as hard alcohol in the room) but we didn’t use it often. All of the staff were so friendly and helpful. Especially Fernando at the Mexican restaurant!
In general, this is a hotel for an older crowd. We are a couple in our late twenties/early thirties and we found that people woke up early and went to bed early. At midnight it’s dead quiet. People wake up early to put their stuff on the best seat by the pool/beach and then leave. Most people our age were traveling with family (adult children and their parents). We went to the RIU parties a couple of times but we really wished there was more of a nightlife. When you arrive, they don’t really give you a lot of info. We needed a day to figure out where everything was and how it worked. For example on New Year’s Eve several of the speciality restaurants were closed but the buffet was special - nobody really told us this and we had to find out on our own. Other small instances of this occurred throughout the stay. The food in general is pretty good - we tried all the restaurants (best was the Mexican) but after a few days you realize it’s all kind of the same. The drinks could be much better and we drank a lot of margaritas because there isn’t a lot of choice - the bartenders don’t do special requests very well.

Overall, we enjoyed the resort. I read a lot of reviews before booking so I went worried about the food quality. The food was fine. The resort was nice, no weird smells, everything was clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The bar tenders were good, and the drinks were done well. People complained about the scent they pump into the lobby, yea you smell it, but it was fine. I think some people just like to complain. I got more than my money's worth at this resort, and I'd happily return or visit another Riu resort.

Great time. Honestly after reading the reviews before visiting I wasn’t expecting to have a good time. But the hotel transfer was good directly thru Riu. Check in was smooth I wanted a Jacuzzi upgrade ( obv paying for it) they didn’t have available but they were able to find me an ocean view upgrade with a discount. The food was good ( I only ate omelettes and tacos for lunch and dinner for 5 days lol. They have multiple restaurants I didn’t try it my friends really liked the steakhouse. We were a group of 8 and had a blast. We are all in ours 30s. All ages visit this resort. RIU has parties every other day. 4 times a week with a free transfer to the party location and unlimited all inclusive shots / drinks / snacks. If you’re looking to have fun come here and go to the parties. The best thing I ate here was the bbq tacos poolside. Check in and check out was smooth. Across the street they have 24 hour pharmacy and convenience store ( oxxo and circle K) they sell all the snacks you need and also more premium liquor if your into that( they accept Apple Pay). There’s a big supermarket 2 blocks down you can find everything you might need there. Starbucks 2 blocks away. Hooters 3 blocks away. The clubbing strip was 3-4 blocks away you can literally walk back and forth. There is a money exchange for the best rate across the street. I will for sure come back and refer my friends. The water is so HOT. The rooms are dated but it’s Mexico if you wanted to be in your room you can stay home. The beach is beautiful. Staff is friendly. Maybe they need 1 extra bartender by the pool and at the lobby bar at night. Aside from that everything was great. On my side 1 of the 2 elevators was broken but they fixed it after the 3rd day.

I went with my sister from July 3rd to July 7th and we were there during hurricane beryl.. let me tel you they took care of us during that time.. overall I had the best experience there. Staff was AMAZING!! Very attentive and very entertaining. Had a great time by the pool. Nothing negative to say.. once we got off the plane went to the sign we needed to look for it was super simple extremely safe. I will be back for another girls trip but I will try and go in March or April. Thank you so much RIU

Just got home from an unforgettable week. I couldn't find a single fault with our stay. The staff was amazing. The place was constantly being cleaned. The food was excellent. The room was large and always restocked with refreshments in the fridge. To top it all off, the pools and beach were stunning. And all the other guests we met were beautiful people. I can't thank the Riu group enough for making our week one we will never forget.❤️

Stayed there at the end of February 2024. Everything went smoothly from the check in to check out. Food was fine, plenty of choices, drinks were good. Staff were friendly, rooms were clean, beach was beautiful. Better spots at the beach were “reserved” by 6am though :D. If I have to complain, I’d say this place needs more than 1 elevator. Not a major issue. Overall great!

I'd love to give this place a 4.5 if I could. Overall AMAZING property. Friendly and attentive staff. Runs like a well oiled machine. Food is out of this world. Property is clean and attractive. The environment is fun. Drinks were strong and tasty. The view is amazing. I felt safe and enjoyed myself.
The only things that I didn't like - the TV service is just 38 channels of bad reception public TV. Not that most people spend a lot of time watching TV in a resort but it would have been nice to have Roku or something like that. The 24 hour snack lounge could have had a better variety of food items but overall it was fine. The entertainment on site was a little geared towards an older crowd, but the off site parties they hold make up for that. I'd recommend 3 nights tops, you might get bored if you stay longer.

This is a very nice hotel....the staff and waiters were excellent and everything was very clean. Check in went great no problems at all. Lobby was nice and no smells at all very clean. Beach was well maintained and lots of chairs for everyone. Entertainment was fun with the off site pool parties a blast. Drinks from the bar were good.... bring a thermo cup to keep your drinks cold and ice from melting...they will make drinks as strong as you want no lie. Food was good.. have I had better yes but not at a all exclusive hotel....you are not going to get a dry aged steak here .... Buffet was very good for a buffet and always had something I liked on it. I would highly recommend you say here and if you get half the service that I got you won't be disappointed....

We stayed here early February 2024. The location was awesome and they have a fantastic beach. The pools were pretty cool – there was one party pool and then one main pool. That’s much quieter. The staff was unbelievably friendly and the service was great. The hotel is kept very clean everywhere from the steps that go down to the beach to your rooms to the lobby to the pool area to the restaurants.
The only downside I have for this place was the food. Overall, it was OK. However, we were disappointed with a few of the spots based on our expectations. Namely, the black-and-white steakhouse.
If you’re looking for a hotel with great value for a higher end spot, this is definitely a great place to go.
