Wow, this resort is heaven on earth. From the second we arrived on the front drive I knew we were in for a treat. Welcomed with lavender infused oshibori towels and tropical treats, I immediately began to relax.
One of the first things to note is you will rarely walk past a single employee who will not warmly greet you throughout the day. The team here feels genuine, like they truly enjoy their jobs and the people they work alongside. With that, service here is top notch, they anticipate your needs throughout your days and slip in and out seamlessly to meet every need.
The food and drink is plentiful! At every turn there is another option or another neat "secret" spot to take in the views and sip on a tropical treat. And the activities offered seem somewhat endless on a less than week long trip. The ones we did were spectacular but this is a make your own adventure type of place, so each experience will be unique.
A few extra special people really made our trip special and I'd be remiss not to shout them out! Keven, Brenda and Sergio on the Casa de la Pirámide rooftop pool were amazing and made us feel right at home. Spending time up there was more like hanging out with some new friends with the best host skills ever! We couldn't get enough; between the company and the sweeping views, the wildlife visitors and the 5 star service, I could have spend my entire trip lounging here.
I hope to return, sooner than later. This place really exceeded my expectations on many levels and I appreciate the focus from the team to all their guests to truly relax and just take in a beautiful new place!

This was, without question, one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had — and we travel a lot.
From the moment you arrive, everything at Xcaret Arte feels intentional, elevated, and genuinely special. The design is stunning, the atmosphere is relaxed yet luxurious, and the adults-only concept makes the entire property feel calm, refined, and indulgent.
The food alone deserves its own standing ovation. Every meal felt restaurant-worthy, not “good for an all-inclusive” — just flat-out excellent. Thoughtful menus, incredible presentation, bold flavors, and fresh ingredients across every venue. We never had a mediocre meal, snack, or drink the entire stay.
The service is exceptional. Warm, attentive, professional, and truly welcoming. Staff members go out of their way to make you feel cared for without ever being intrusive. It’s the kind of service that makes you feel instantly relaxed because you know everything is handled.

This review is for hotel Xcaret Arte specifically. I went to all the parks and visited Hotel Xcaret Mexico as well but I stayed at Arte so this review is specific to that. I just got back from spending four nights down there and I can honestly say I had a wonderful experience. It is a bit expensive, we spent about $1250 per night for the jump in river suite which basically means you can open your door and jump in from the deck into the river and swim, which we did many times, and also we added the Art Aroma Foodie Pass which grants you access to all 30 restaurants (one being a 1 Michelin Star which we had dinner at our first night included with this pass) at Xcaret Mexico as well.
The price is very high because everything is included breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as drinks and all sorts of other items. There are extras you can add on such as massages and merchandise, but they do a really great job including everything in the price and delivering very high-quality service.
I did have one issue with billing in that I kept getting an automated false charge to my card, but the front desk was helpful in dealing with it, and it was sorted out by the time I left, aside from that the service was top-notch and the grounds of the resort are really beautiful. I would say my favorite part was swimming in the river that surrounds the entire property and finding many hidden waterslides all around. The rooftop pool at Arte is also really nice. It has great views of the whole property.
Staying here gives you access to all of the parks and we did all of them however we ran out of time to see Xenses. That itself is a great deal and the real reason you would stay at this resort. You can go to the beach and all sorts of other places on the grounds too, but having access to all the parks and the many activities is the real bonus. They also have shuttle service to and from everything so it’s really easy to get around. I think this place is especially nice given because Arte is for adults only or if you want to travel with kids and swim with them and all that you can stay on the Xcaret México side. I would highly recommend and I would visit again in the future.

My experience at Xcaret Hotel was amazing overall… a solid four stars. The property is beautiful… the atmosphere is relaxing… and the staff works hard to make every guest feel welcomed. The food options were good and the rooms were comfortable, giving that peaceful vacation vibe that helps you unwind right away.
The Xcaret parks were the real highlight… each one offered something unique. Whether it was the underground rivers… the cultural shows… the wildlife… or the adventure activities… every destination had something exciting to offer. The parks were clean, well organized, and full of memorable experiences.
The additional side destinations were also worth it… from the cenotes to the beaches to the special tours… everything felt like a complete package of nature, adventure, and culture.
My only real complaints are about the room charging system and the room service. The bracelets are supposed to let you charge purchases directly to your room… but they never worked for us. Anything we tried to buy had to be handled manually, which was frustrating since this feature is advertised as a convenience. Room service was also very slow… sometimes taking up to two and a half hours to arrive.
If they fix their charging system and speed up room service, this place could easily earn five stars. Overall, though, the experience was incredible and I would definitely return.

In my experience the hotel is the best hotel on the Rivera Maya, the experience is very amazing and the viuws are very beutiful. When you arrive to the airport the experience Starts and the staff makes you feel at home. The hotel has ten restaurants and all the food was delicious. All the hotel is very clean, and the rooms and the hallways smell delicious. I dont recommend it on holiday season and go whit children becouse you cant do all the activities. There are a lot of activities to keep you entertained. I will definitely return for my next vacations, and i highly recommend

I am writing to provide feedback regarding a recent stay at the Hotel Xcaret Arte in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, where I was part of a wedding party of 20 guests from the U.S. and Canada. We occupied several rooms across various buildings from Dec 8-11.
Overall Experience:
The hotel is beautiful, luxurious, and the all-inclusive concept is highly appealing. We had heard wonderful things about the food, service, and extensive activities. The staff was, for the most part, extremely friendly, attentive, and helpful.
Positive Feedback:
- Food Quality: The food was magnificent. The quality was consistently high across the buffets and restaurants we visited. The seafood and traditional Mexican dishes were spectacular, and the buffets were well-stocked.
- Facilities and Activities: The grounds, including the water courses, park, and beach, were magnificent and extremely well-kept. The commitment to maintaining the natural environment, with staff cleaning the lagoons and gardens, was impressive. This hotel is an excellent choice for anyone interested in nature-based activities.
Areas of Concern:
- Food Poisoning: We experienced a significant issue on our final day when several members of our group suffered from food poisoning. The incident was traced back to one of the buffets, specifically the one located next to the pool. We suspect the eggs were the cause.
- Value and Pricing: My primary reason for giving the hotel a 3-star rating, rather than 5, is the perceived lack of value for the price. While the hotel is very nice, at a rate of $1000 + per night, I consider it overpriced for what is provided.

This mandatory early departure felt like we were being unnecessarily rushed out of the hotel.

Their assigned rooms were in categories that didn't guarantee twin beds. I went the day before the clients arrived to confirm their room categories. About 10 rooms had to have their beds changed.
Alejandra, who worked at the check-in desk at Casa de la Musica, resolved the issue quickly, professionally, and with great care. Brava!
I don't need to repeat myself about the high level of service and quality of the food at this hotel.
I won't keep it a secret that I ate several plates of sushi and sashimi at the lunch buffet.
The eco-friendly bags provided in the rooms were cute and convenient, but the ink on them stained my clothes. The entire experience was great, but I'm sharing this one regret.

This was my first experience with an all-inclusive resort. Hands down, I'd go back in a heartbeat. As of Dec 2025, I believe I read that the resort was only 4 years old at the time we stayed there, so it still felt very new. I think the highlight of this resort is the staff. They were so kind and attentive and deserve all the praise. Check-in makes you feel VIP, and even upon check-out, they still ensure you're taken care of even until you reach the airport (transport to and from Cancun is included)! The rooms themselves were also fantastic, with all the trimmings of a 5-star hotel. On top of that, they give you a ton of free stuff: branded tote bag, cute house slippers (not the boring white ones), reusable water bottles, etc. I haven't even hit on the included excursions/parks. I docked one star because the food quality was very hit or miss. Room service fare was consistently awful, and I found most of the reservation restaurants to over-salt their food. But the buffets were great and they obviously shined in their Mexican food offerings. Lastly, I would like to see more effort in their sustainability practices - there was a crazy amount of one-time plastic cup usage for mixed drinks. With the sensitivity of that marine area, it'd be good to see them make more effort in that regard. Highly recommend.

Also, three glasses and a water bottle were left in the hallway outside our room for two days and no one picked them up. It made the housekeeping feel careless. At the other hotel we stayed before this one, everything was much better — especially the staff, who were genuinely kind and helpful.

We came for a wedding site inspection because we wanted to see the location in person and hopefully fall in love with the venue. The property itself is stunning, and the concept of “all-fun inclusive” is truly impressive. However, there were several issues we experienced that became major deal breakers for us.
1. Food Quality (Major Concern)
The biggest disappointment was the food. For a hotel at this price point, we expected significantly better quality. El Dorado Royale—which is less than half the price—offered much better food options overall. At Xcaret Arte, most of the dishes we tried were cold, overly salty, or simply not enjoyable. It was also surprising considering that Encanta is a Michelin-starred restaurant; unfortunately, the experience didn’t reflect that standard.

It was also surprising considering that Encanta is a Michelin-starred restaurant; unfortunately, the experience didn’t reflect that standard.

Just got home from our honeymoon here and it’s the most incredible resort we’ve ever stayed in. Every corner is stunning, the food was amazing, there’s lots of different pool areas to choose from. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful, the room was amazing and we booked the cheapest option. Comfiest best I’ve ever experienced. I think some of the negative reviews are unreasonable, I don’t think the staff could have been any better. It’s the perfect combination of relaxing, adventure and a bit of partying around the main pool when there’s a live band and at the speakeasy and Catina at night.
A special shoutout to Martin who conducted our Xenotes tour, he was amazing, and Alan from Tah-Xido restaurant stood out with his amazing service at dinner.

They start your stay with a lie and it goes down hill from there. As soon as you get in, they offer everyone a 90 minute talk in exchange for a spa. It is not 90 minutes. It is at least 3 and nearly 4 hours. The spa has questionable availability and the coupon is for 50 minutes of the lightest possible massage they offer. To upgrade costs $79USD per person. On the morning of the presentation, you wait for 15-30 for a sales person and then you have breakfast with them and then the presentation begins. They don’t count breakfast with the sales person part of the presentation. During the whole presentation, they say it is they will not pressure you. it was said at least 15 times—the gaslighting is next level. After you tell your sales person no, they’ll bring their boss. When you say no to them, the sales person will come back with a better offer. When you say no to them, another person will come and make you an offer. When you tell them no, someone will give you a survey and finally take you upstairs. Then, they’ll give you an offer for another stay that you have to put a down payment on. Either way, they’ll call you the next day and offer the same deal—you didn’t even half to waste your life to get the deal. And what is this deal? 25% off for a limited number of nights a year. That’s basically it (some RCI package where they give you a number you can call whenever you want to hear that nothing in the RCI catalog is ever available.) The price varies, but people on reddit have reported as low at 6K for a 10 year membership. The price starts at multiples of that (let’s say 24K). To break even, you’d have to stay there every year for a decade for 3-7 nights. For many packages, you couldn’t break even. It is a scam. Xcaret should banish this division as it’s an embarrassment to everything else they do.
Apart from the scam, the food is incredible, drinks are great, architecture is stunning, pools are beautiful, and the natural environment is breathtaking. Will go back and highly recommend, but don’t for a second, do the presentation. Enjoy the experience. The scam ruins it.

We just spent a week at Excaret Resort in Playa del Carmen, and it was honestly one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever stayed 🌴✨ — and we’ve traveled quite a bit! I rarely go back to the same destination twice, but this one is a must-return experience. 💯

So far not so good. We booked 7 months ago via the phone with Xcaret. It was for my wife and I. I was very clear about this. Now we arrived and they only have rooms with two queen size beds. I told them I booked a king and they asked me to prove it. The reservation doesn’t say two queens or king and they say it’s based on availability. For $1,000- night this is the worst experience so far. They have a line for twenty couples waiting to check in and just one counter open. I have had better service at road side motels. Do not book this hotel unless you want to stand in line for an hour at check in just to be told they don’t have the room you booked. I guess my wife and I will high five each other in separate beds to say goodnight each evening.

Arrived here and the AC did not work since we got here. The first two nights we put up with it. Third night we requested repair. Sat around for over six hours with repairs with multiple management service safe and etc. to nova. Customer service concierge and management did not care at all. They pretended to but at the end of the day They just pass the buck to somebody else. They did not care whatsoever and they would say wait 30 minutes and if no one shows up contact us. When you go to contact them, no one is available. The agents have left the building. Their shift is over. I’m currently on hold by dialing zero to reach customer service for over an hour now. I went to the front desk and they blew me off. Stash when I requested for management‘s name for the following day to address the situation they had no clue who would be the manager for the following day. I stated don’t you have a schedule for employees And I was told no we don’t we have no clue.
I was told after 6 hours by the technician that a relay was bad or the thermostat is bad. He did not replace either. He simply pulled back some wires and shove them into the existing components. It did not fix nor resolve any of the issues. We have stayed here multiple times and love the place. This is the worst experience we’ve ever had here. We have spent more money on the excursions, etc., than the trip with flight and hotel state combined. This is a disgrace and a slap in the face. Thank you for ruining my birthday outing with family and friends.
Management should reach out to me directly to rectify the situation since your management on The facility cannot act like adults in handle the situation accordingly. We like the property we don’t mind spending the overpriced fees to stay here as it is very convenient and we do like the properties overall. Our family has been coming here for many years and we hope to continue this however, if the service level is now What it seems to be no one and I mean no one should spend their money to come here.
Once again, I’m still waiting for the operator to answer and we are now at One hour and 15 minutes of the phone just ringing.

Our group of 23 ladies spent over five months planning a stay at Hotel Xcaret Arte, expecting a smooth and memorable experience. Unfortunately, what we encountered was disorganized service, poor communication, and constant disappointments.

Dining was especially frustrating. At Chino Poblano, our group was split at different tables, and the pre-set menu offered only beef and pork, something I specifically requested to change months earlier to chicken and fish for our group. At Asian Teppanyaki, the waitress asked us to leave before we were even served dessert. At Encanta, our entire group was seated outside in 90 degree heat while the air conditioned indoor section remained mostly empty.
Basic customer service was consistently missing. Cafe staff ignored guests until you stare them down. Park transportation showed favoritism, asking us to wait aside while other large groups boarded first (despite us arriving earlier). At checkout, the front desk did not offer a single thank you, despite each of us paying close to $3,000. To make matters worse, the associate I had coordinated with for months, Ariadna, blocked me rather than addressing any of our concerns.
The property itself is beautiful, but the service and management are terrible. Staff were untrained, unhelpful, and dismissive. Requests were ignored or endlessly delayed. For the price, we expected professionalism, respect, and courtesy and instead left feeling unwelcome.

The room was amazing: large, with a balcony with great views, and a jacuzzi. The food was perfect and consisted of a great variety of authentic Mexican food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There are several Xcaret parks nearby with free transportation, including a water park/zoo and a park with optical illusions. Staff was friendly and helpful overall, although I did have one poor experience our first day when 3 different staff members at the breakfast buffet ignored me when I tried to order in Spanish and I had to involve a manager to get my eggs and crepe. The only downside was the very slow and inefficient check-in and check-out process. There is no option to simply drop your keys in a box or leave them in your room when checking out. We had to wait in line for 30 minutes and missed our original bus to the airport because of this. Fortunately, there were no lines at the airport, otherwise we would have missed our flight. There were several staff members with iPads available, but none of them were allowed to help speed up check-out it seems.

I previously stayed at the Sweet Garden/Adult zone.
When I stayed at Sweet Garden, I was very satisfied with the room service, cleaning, and overall room condition.
However, my experience at the Artista section was not satisfying. The room smelled a bit old, and there were fruit flies in the bathtub. The cleaning was not done as thoroughly as it had been at Sweet Garden, and the reception staff at Artista were unfriendly.
That being said, most of the staff overall were very kind, and this is still a hotel I would like to come back to.
I think the staff at the Artista section need some retraining.

Amazing! The beautiful environments they've created, impeccable service, and incredible food would be enough for me to give it more than 5 stars if I could. But add in the inclusion of the Xcaret parks, and that sends the entire experience way over the top. Came with my 21 y.o. son & 16 y.o. daughter and they loved it too. This has become my new favorite place to vacation, and I'd love to come back.

While the hotel is beautiful, they simply cannot deliver on their promises. All restaurants are booked. Barely any room for any excursions. How can you allow people to book 3 months in advance. The hotel is not busy at all. I have been here 3 nights and I am starving. Spend your money elsewhere.

Service has fallen BIG TIME . Two nights into a 5 night stay and I’m ready to leave . Order room service at 12:30 they said it would be (70-80 minutes) Two hours and half they either forgot ,or could called me said they were slammed . Theirs always long lines at hotel for food , the staff is all fake nice just to sell you timeshare. Once you tell them “no “the charm wears off super fast . So many beautiful smaller hotels in Mexico to visit . Almost $1,300 a night for a swim up ocean room and we can even get in room dining.
After completing my full trip I definitely won't be back . I will say this staff works hard to keep the grounds clean (I was pleased to see someone cleaning my pool at 5 AM) and food inside or the resort is still top notch.

I would describe the resort as a paradise oasis. There's no doubt it's one of the most beautiful resorts I've stayed at. Unfortunately the staff, food, service or room did not compare to my previous stay at Xcaret Mexico.

I don't understand how the staff at Xcaret Mexico could be 5 star being a sister resort and Xcaret Arte be a less than mediocre. The food was average to less than average. The cleanliness was lacking and had to be addressed. The toilet continuing to run after several attempts by there staff to fix it.
Why couldn't the fridge be filled without having to ask?
I tipped the cleaning lady daily and all the staff at meals and bars. Unfortunately not one of them deserved it. We'll except the bartender/disc jockey at the pool and the waitress at the pool. I think they made out like bandits.
Arte is adults only but I now know as much as I love the resort, I know now NOT to stay at Arte and instead, go to Xcaret Mexico if I decide to visit again.

My husband and I came here for our honeymoon last week and overall it was an amazing experience. We had the best time from entering the resort. Everyone was so welcoming, the service was amazing especially from our butlers we had. The food was the BEST, we ate so much. The workers here really TAKE CARE OF YOU. Even at the pools the service is the best. Overall it’s a beautiful resort so many things to do!! The only reason I gave it a 4 star instead of 5 star is because at checkout time it seemed like no one wanted to help us. We were running late for our shuttle and just needed to return our bracelets and check out. First there was only 1 person working the service desk while there were 5 other workers just standing around doing nothing when they could’ve assisted us. We were in line waiting for our turn then one of the worker ladies decided to help a couple checkout who was in line AFTER US. She was told by another worker we were in line first but she didn’t care. That was really terrible service and did not appreciate it, didn’t understand why it took so long to get help. The worker who didn’t want to help us is below, didn’t get her name was wearing a purple hair tie. A nice lady named Aritzma I believe helped us and was very nice. Other than that I would recommend this hotel just need more workers to help when checking out and better service at that.

I got food poisoning from the hotel’s food, which completely ruined my vacation. I was seriously ill during my stay and even after I returned home. The hotel had no proper medication available and made me wait until the next morning just to get basic treatment. Their careless response made the situation even worse.
This was my second time staying at this hotel, but it was nothing like my first visit a year ago. Everything had changed, and not in a good way.
The staff were noticeably unfriendly and unprofessional. One particularly upsetting incident happened at the restaurant, where a server dropped part of my food while bringing it to me and didn’t even apologize. They just handed over the plate like nothing happened.
Hygiene standards were poor. The reusable drink cups looked old and overused, and I saw them being rinsed at the bar in a way that didn’t look clean at all. I highly recommend bringing your own cup if you choose to stay here.
The room was also in bad condition. There was peeling paint, the shower didn’t drain properly, and mold was clearly visible in the bathroom.

Everything went fine except just going out from the hotel area (right before the security point near the main road) we realized we forgot a bag with snorkeling gear and a hat. When we tried to enter back, security refused to let us in just telling us we already went out. They "called" to "check" if our belongings were still there but only replied they were not able to find them (even if we just left them 15 minutes ago and were pretty sure they were still at the place we left them) as easy as it would have been to retrieve them ourselves. The experience was totally ruined as they didn't even let us get to the lobby and refused to give any further information or check again. We tried calling and the answer was the same, not letting us enter to retrieve our belongings and "already checked". This time it was stuff we will be buying again but I can't imagine if it would have been our passports or medications. Definitely NOT RETURNING just for this one little big detail. Totally unhelpful and thoughtless staff at security. Shame for ruining a really nice place with amazing cuisine and the good job other staff are doing.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Xcaret Arte. The room, service, food, activities are all 10/10. We had such a fantastic stay and already made plans to come back next year! The attention to detail truly makes a difference and this is one of the best trips we’ve ever had. Xcaret Arte is so special and you won’t regret your decision to come here. The place is very luxurious, so it’s a bit more expensive than the average AI resorts but it’s worth every penny!

Rooms are well kept and comfortable.
But so badly noise proofed that you can hear anyone whispering in the corridor. Get ready to be awakened several times a night when people come back from clubs.
Now the main issue is the service. Everything is slow and dumb. The app does not work, everything has to be done with concierges which do not seem to care much.
The activity listing and restaurant booking are incomprehensible.
The staff can be charming but there is a lot of incompetence and carelessness (promising to do something and letting you hang- this happened 3 times already in 2 days)
Everything seems far too complicated than it should be for a hotel of this price level.
And, never any apologies…

Had an awful experience at Xcaret Arte. Went to Xcaret in March of this year (2025) for a 5 nights stay. During this stay, 3 of the 5 nights we did not have working air conditioning in the room. I repeatedly called the front desk and maintenance regarding the issue. They moved me and my family into a new after the second night. This room also did not have working air conditioning. On the third day, they moved us to a room with working air conditioning but this room had an issue with the back door sensor which prevented the room from being locked.
What is alarming about Xcaret is not the poor room experience I had but at the extremely poor way in which they handle customer service. They simply refuse to offer even a partial refund. Xcaret offered me a free room upgrade on a future trip, subject to availability.
You and your family may go to this hotel and spend thousands of dollars to get a bad experience and be told after, come spend thousands more and roll the dice.

We just returned home from our amazingly breathtaking vacation. Hotel Xcaret Arte was beyond our expectations. As an artist, I felt like we were staying in a museum, where I could see exquisite pieces whenever I chose. My husband loves all food and he had no complaints; everything was delectable and delicious. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. I highly recommend this magical hotel in Mexico.

We were given a room upgrade since it was a graduation celebration. We loved the location of the hotel; the grounds are huge, but beautiful. We got lost the first day!

However, I was disappointed with the rooms. The housekeeping needs to be improved, the mattresses are not comfortable, and the walls are not soundproof. We had construction at 2 a.m. on the roof of our room. We unfortunately didn't get a full night's sleep during our stay... For room service, the wait is very long, and they forgot my order.
The price is worth it if you go to the park that is included, but if you don't go, I recommend other places, although I really liked it!!

My wife and I stayed here in the fall. What absolutely amazing. Nothing like it! I have traveled all around the county to different all inclusive resorts and nothing even comes close to xcarate. It’s like you’re in another world. The grounds are incredible and the service is top notch! Plus most of all the parks are included which it makes it that much better. Of course it’s more expensive the most of the all inclusive resorts out there,.,, but it’s true you do pay for what you get!

Love this all-inclusive resort. You feel immersed in the Mayan jungle at times.There are lots of outlets to wine and dine. Make sure to make a reservation and plan your stay. It is also very safe. They do provide Suttle service from to and from the airport. Just wish Uber would be available as the taxi service can get pricy if you are planning to leave the resort for any reason.

The food is above average for it being all inclusive and the amenities are over the top- four rooftop pools (with one being exclusive), three swimup pool bars, along with access to the ocean and a gorgeous lagoon. The parks we visited were also pretty nice.
Now here are my cons...like every adult all inclusive.....this resort attracts all kinds of people and sadly, I was disappointed with the behavior of some of the other guests. The rooms....while nice and cozy....don't have proper insulation when loud and obnoxious neighbors constantly woke us up at 3AM. We also had some drunk random people bang on our door while we were trying to sleep. For the amount paid, this type of discomfort is completely unacceptable.
The check-in staff needs to to be much more transparent about noise by asking their guests if they prefer to stay in a quieter part of the resort, and as a general policy have 'Do Not Disturb ' signs that could be put outside each room to foster privacy. I've never stayed in a hotel with my door being banged in the middle of the night until now. While they try to make everyone feel like VIPs.....this strategy backfires by encouraging self entitled guests to disturb other guests who want piece and quiet at night. Hotel Xcaret needs to do a better job setting higher standards for their self entitled guests for me to ever come back and recommend other travelers to stay here.

My room was the river jump nice view but they are fishes in the water if you don’t care then jumping in isn’t a problem. My only main complaint was the Bed was NOT comfortable it’ was def hard and worn .

Resort was too big to explore in 3 days . Def would visit again but plan everything in advance

The hotel is spectacular, its food and drinks are first class. The rooms are very comfortable, the restaurant concepts are incredible. It's a shame that they have such terrible service, the concierge made mistake after mistake in our reservations, the staff in general does not have the slightest spirit of service, they deny everything, they make you waste valuable time on your vacation and ruin how perfect the guests' stay could be. I hope they train them so that their attention to guests is friendly.

Negative: Someone tried to sell us a timeshare about 5 times a day. Almost every single hotel employee saying "Goodmorning", "Hello", quickly transformed the interaction into an attempt to sell their vacation club. It got to the point where we were permanently on edge about any staff member speaking to us at all because it was all an attempt to sell a timeshare. I feel rude but I found that it was best to ignore the employees existance because it wasn't worth the waste of my time to deny attending a presentation multiple times a day. Even at check-in, they offered "free breakfast" (breakfast is already "free" at the buffet and all the restaurants), and offered free massages and a tour of the property. It's only revealed later that it is for attending a multi-hour presentation.
Additionally, no one told us ahead of time that we needed to make restaurant AND bus reservations before we even arrived at the resort. Instead, we learned once we arrived at Xcaret that almost all the nice restaurants were completely reserved for our entire duration of the stay. We wound up just having to eat the buffet most meals. Also, the earliest available shuttle bus trips were like 11am since we didn't know we had to reserve ahead of time. Getting to somewhere like Xel Ha at 10am and learning the available bus return times was like 3pm was awful. We wound up just taking a taxi back rather than shortening our park visits.
Positives: all the parks are a lot of fun. The picture package makes saving memor8es really easy. I could eat at the Arte buffet everyday of my life, it's quite delicious. The cenote and Chichen Itza trip was great.
Overall: I'd like to visit the Xcaret parks again but I think I'd avoid the hotel. Too many attempts to sell vacation packages, no warning to make reservations for the free park shuttles nor the nice restaurants.
Perhaps a recommendation is to tell the random staff interactions that you're already a part of the vacation club. Maybe that will make them leave you alone. I just told them I have no money.

Room service food sucks but if you can’t eat it they’ll make you wait 3 hours to order again. Staff do the bare minimum and aren’t concerned about complaints. Pics attached of steak and “charbroiled romaine” Caesar salad with 3 pieces of cold packaged chicken slices. There is also a little bit of pretending to not know English when we need something. No offer to make anything right. Had to ask to be moved rooms because the door has no soundproofing so people keep waking us up but they can’t do move us until tomorrow. We have to check out of our current room and then wait for 3 hours to use the next room. Wtf? Tried to rope us into a timeshare presentation in a pushy way. Couldn’t find the lounge/free shuttle at the airport when we landed and no one would help us. No signs anywhere. We called the front desk 3 times and no one answered. Ended up paying $200 for a cab. Paid for a swim up room which is just a tiny wading pool with two chairs in it. Overpriced and a waste of time. We have been to some amazing hotels and this just isn’t one of them. Our trip is non refundable (15k) but we are considering going home early anyway.

Booked a 4 night stay at Xcaret with my wife… cost for four night $6k… not the most expansive but no where near the cheapest… Hotel is aesthetically pleasing… Took 40 mins to check in… yeah 40 mins… when we got to the room it was full of bugs… have video and pics… went to ask for another room… said they had a standard room but no refund for the different cost of the room or they would fumigate the room and we could stay there. No sorry nothing… i said okay we’ll take the non bug room and he said to wait in the bug room for the manager…My wife and I have traveled all over and stayed in hundreds of hotels… never had this happen…. I don’t care what the reviews say avoid this place like the plague.. Photos are of one section. FYI.

We had a garden view, which was nice. As the hotel is fun inclusive, it means that you are provided alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages in your mini fridge. Each day, they bring you a small gift.
Not really a con, but we had higher expectations when it came to the cuisine. I would say it was a solid 4/5.

FOOD POISONING EXPERIENCE - WE LEFT EARLY!
Hotel Xcaret Arte didn’t meet expectations. The property was beautiful, with stunning architecture and River Spa Suite worth the upgrade.
However, the food quality was disappointing—much worse than other resorts in Riviera Maya. Both my friend and I got food poisoning from different dining experiences, forcing us to leave early. The in-room dining options were limited and took 40 min for a bowl of pasta during non-peak dining hours.

Overall, I would NOT recommend this resort to others.
Hotel Xcaret Arte didn’t meet expectations. The property was beautiful, with stunning architecture and River Spa Suite worth the upgrade.
However, the food quality was disappointing—much worse than other resorts in Riviera Maya. Both my friend and I got food poisoning from different dining experiences, forcing us to leave early. The in-room dining options were limited and took 40 min for a bowl of pasta during non-peak dining hours.

The overall experience is questionable, but has a major flaw for activities that require prior reservation and restaurants. Most restaurants that require reservation are 1/2 to 3/4 empty, this is a very common problem for restaurants that allow reservations for free but have guests that do not show up and, translate into horrible experience for those who are unable to reserve. We have been trying to reserve for 4 days and no success because they keep asking show up at 5pm but guess what? at 5pm you are doing another activity.
They claim many cousines but you cant even enjoy them, so whats the point? They claim all inclusive fun but you cant even reserve certain pre-sold out activities, so...? We actually paid lots of extra activities simply because xcaret didnt have them available (booked out).
Very simple solutions:
*Higher priority queue vs reservations (this is highly adopted on highly demanded restaurants)
*Allow takeout for highly booked restaurants
*Allow online reservations vs mandatory in person.

Stupid place, only provide taxi if you don’t have flight confirmation(I WANT BUS). Remember to lie with them if you want uber from airport to next location.

Arte is a step up from Xcaret's slightly older Mexico hotel next door, but the real benefits here are a quieter resort (adults only) and some exclusive beach access. Much like Xcaret Mexico, access to all of Xcaret's parks free of charge is their greatest value.
If you have a choice between the two hotels, it's definitely a better experience at Arte. There are rooftop pools for each casa, which are also incredibly convenient. Service was top notch.
Almost everything Xcaret touches turns to gold. I hope the quality continues -- we've been to the hotels several times now, and will be going back.
Special mentions to Jorge in Casa Diseño who got us a room upgrade, Teresa at the rooftop pool there, and Carime at Casa Fuego's Fuego restaurant who is always an absolute pleasure to chat with.

My husband and I were here for our 1 year anniversary. The room was amazing. The food is some of the best authentic Mexican cuisine that he has ever tasted. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating.
We took a tour to Chechen Isa during our stay. The tour guides were very friendly, knowledgeable and a pleasure to be with for 12 hours.
The only downside is that it is an hour drive to the airport. However they do give free transportation to and from.

I’m not even sure where to start…however, I was extremely let down by Hotel Xcaret Arte. I do realize that everyone’s expectations are different but I’m so amazed at the number of positive reviews. My husband and I stayed in the Artistas building with an ocean view, swim up suite on the third floor. I want to start by saying we tipped very well and tipped pretty much anyone we came in contact with. Although, we did NOT leave a generous tip at the end as we had planned due to the lack of good service.
Our butler, Emer, started off amazing but quickly fell flat like his counterpart Martin who wasn’t of much help from the very beginning. The communication between butlers seemed to be non existent making it hard to make “successful” requests depending on who was on duty. Please keep in mind our requests were extremely reasonable and included escorting us to dinner on two occasions (butler arrived late on one occasion), two requests for bubble baths (butler arrived after we already returned from dinner to complete the request on one occasion), assistance with placing room service orders (breakfast for our final morning was never placed according to room service). Turn down service was only provided on two of our four nights and our room was never actually cleaned properly. Just fresh towels and sometimes linen when they actually came.
The lack of attentiveness and attention to detail was sorely missed. I felt as if they needed to be prompted on most occasions and even then they did not deliver. I will never go back! There are better luxury options available such as Four Seasons, Sofitel, Conrad or similar hotel chains. This is simply my opinion.
As for the property, the hotel itself is absolutely stunning. The layout is a bit poorly constructed and quite a bit of walking is required, no golf carts or other forms of transportation throughout the resort. I do want to give a shout out to one of the gentlemen at the Artistas Rooftop pool as he was extremely attentive and helpful. The ceviche and chips and guacamole are simply amazing!! There is construction work going on in the wee hours of the morning, so if you are a light sleeper like me be prepared to hear hammering at the worst possible times. The walls are also extremely thin. You can hear everything and everyone out in the hallway. The busses to and from the parks are overcrowded and not really what I expected.
Again for 1k or more a night, I feel we could have or shall I say should have had a much better experience. If you are truly looking for luxury, be sure to explore all of your options.

Such a unique resort with the rivers and coves winding through the property and out to the beach! Stayed for 5 nights and didn’t even get to see/do everything the resort has to offer so hope to go back someday!
Best food I’ve ever had at a resort, even the main buffet was exceptionally good and wide variety of options daily! They ask at every meal if you have any food allergies. There were tons of top shelf drink options at all the bars and restaurants.
The pools were a perfectly warm temperature even at the end of November. The beach towels were huge and soft and easy to find new ones around the pools and beach. Never a lack of seating options anywhere.
We visited two of the Xcaret parks that are included in the all-inclusive rate and wish we had more time to go to others! Loved that transportation to/from the airport and all the parks was included as well.
The service at the resort was the absolute best we’ve ever experienced - the employees seemed genuinely happy and friendly and always asking if they can get you anything. Highly recommending this resort to friends and family!

I really liked this resort. It is tastefully decorated and a lot of attentions are given to little details. The room is spacious and clean. The food at restaurants are sophisticated and delicious. Services are excellent and activities are well managed. The views are great and all inclusive fun is awesome! I would not hesitate to give it 5 star and want to come back again until my boy friend became very sick on the third day with food poisoning. It was difficult to see him suffering and couldn’t enjoy the activities and food we have paid top dollar for. He is a very healthy man and has hardly gotten sick during our 8 years together. This is the sickest I saw him. Fortunately there is a doctor stationed in the resort (you have to paid $100 for consultation and extra for medication). With two more nights left, I hope he would recover soon. Now I am not sure whether I want to come back here. Too bad because I have really liked this resort.

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Xcaret Arte in November 2021 and had an amazing experience. This is a very nice adult-only all-inclusive resort. The property was absolutely gorgeous! The amenities, food, drinks, service, etc. were all top notch! We loved being right on the ocean and the river. The location and the round-trip transfers to and from the Xcaret parks were very convenient. The only constructive feedback I would provide is that there are no hot tubs on the property, which was disappointing (only hot tub was inside of the Spa, which you can only use when you book Spa services). I would highly recommend Hotel Xcaret Arte!

Our honeymoon was nothing short of excellent...thanks to Xcaret Arte! We felt welcomed as soon as we stepped off the shuttle. I cannot say enough about Sergio. He greeted us upon arrival and he made sure that we wanted for nothing. Our luggage was taken my mistake at the airport and he made sure we received it. We saw him everyday of our stay and he was always ready to assist in any way he could. It was a very relaxing yet fun experience and I look forward to going back next year!!

We had an absolutely amazing trip, however there was one outstanding moment I wanted to share with you. When we had dinner at Encanta our server was Antonio and he was amazing. I also greatly appreciated him pulling other staff members over to try explaining our dish in English. I love the teamwork the manager Ramon has built in this restaurant. And we made sure to let Ramon know how much we appreciated all the work they had put into this restaurant. We also went back the following night to have some beverages at the bar. We were lucky enough to have the head bartender, Antonio (different Antonio from our server), he blew us away with some of the tastiest drinks. If you get the chance to try Antonio’s white Bloody Mary do it! Don’t let the name scare you away it doesn’t have any tomato juice but is garnished with a sliced cherry tomato. I cannot give this restaurant and our experience here enough props!

Everything about our stay impressed us! From the moment we arrived! this is a destination vacation to enjoy, explore, and immerse your self. There is soo much to see and do! It is really exciting to explore all this amazing and expansive resort has to offer. From the hidden speakeasy, yes it is hidden and fun to actually find. To the many, many pools and restaurants! I have to say even after researching and reading this resort exceeded my expectations on all fronts. The food at Mercado, the Sunday brunch here is amazing. The other restaurants are equally impressive chic and romantic. Be sure to make reservations to some! You will no go unimpressed i assure you! Five stars on Everything. Thanks! And We will be Back!

This was our second trip to an all inclusive resort in the Cancun area. The service was good, the restaurants were pretty good and the beach was great. The last hotel we stayed at had a beach covered in so much seaweed they had tractors running up and down the beach every 10 to 15 minutes to clean it up, not a problem 8/21.
The transportation to and from the airport and activities was reliable and in good maintenance. All the parks Xcaret owns are included!
The only downside was half the restaurants require reservations and formal wear and communication wasn't very great regarding what, when, and how things were available. Overall, I would recommend staying at Hotel Xcaret Arte. I wish you could have full access to the original Hotel Xcaret Mexico next door,maybe that will come in the future. There is still some non-intrusive construction going on and another restaurant should be open soon.
